He might have missed all of this season with injury, but Lions captain Sam Warburton says his depleted Cardiff Blues teammates can win their second European Challenge Cup.

As well as Warburton Cardiff are without fellow Wales stars Gethin Jenkins and Alex Cuthbert, the latter of whom is leaving this summer to cross the border and play for English champions Exeter.

It's not all art galleries and fine dining in Bilbao.

A group of Cardiff Blues fans were spotted drinking at the curiously named Cafeteria Swansea earlier.

And it seems Swansea City have some support in the Basque Country, judging by the Swans shirt hanging on the wall in said bar.

  8. How Gloucester ensured a return to the finalpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 11 May 2018

Cardiff Blues v Gloucester (20:00 BST)

The Cherry and Whites know what it is like to be at this stage of the European Challenge Cup - Stade Francais ended their hopes of silverware in last season's final.

This season the pool stage proved a bit tricky - they lost twice to pool winners Pau, but high-scoring wins home and away over Agen and Zebre ensured they were sixth seeds for the quarter-finals.

And they continued that high-scoring form in the knockout rounds as they got 33 points in both of their wins to make it to tonight's final with Cardiff Blues.

They ran in four tries in a 33-28 win away at Connacht before going over three times in a 33-12 win over Premiership rivals Newcastle.

Blues coasted through the group stages - winning five of their six games - as they topped their pool by seven points, although their 21-point haul meant they were only fifth seeds for the quarter-finals.

That meant they had a tricky road to the final as they first had to negotiate an away trip to Edinburgh, which they did thanks to a 20-6 win at Murrayfield.

They then took on the final French side in the draw Pau, who were also top seeds from the pool stage, in the semi-final at the Arms Park.

In a tense encounter Gareth Anscombe scored Cardiff's only try after five minutes, but the trusty boot of Jarrod Evans kicked them into tonight's final after a strong defensive display as they ran out 16-10 winners.

Bilbao is a city renowned for its culture.

It is home to several galleries, including the Guggenheim Museum, and it seems the Cardiff Blues and Gloucester players have made something of a cultural trip of their visit to the Basque city.

Members of both squads were seen milling around the famous gallery earlier today.

I'm sure both sides will be looking to put on an exhibition of running rugby tonight. Ahem. Sorry.

Good evening and welcome to BBC Sport's live commentary of the first European rugby final of the season - and the first ever to be held outside a traditional rugby nation.

Bilbao in Spain plays host to Cardiff Blues against Gloucester for the right to take home the European Challenge Cup.

Both sides know what it is like to win the seocnd tier European crown - Gloucester won this trophy in 2006 and 2015, and were beaten finalists 12 months ago.

Cardiff Blues' victory in 2010 was the first and only time a Welsh club had ever won a European title.
