    England 7-0 Australia

    Mike Tindall
    Former England captain

A couple of worrying signs for Australia already. They don't get the ball out and England's scrum is so on top. Eddie Jones won't mind a set-piece game if that's going to continue.

    Simple, simple finish, executed brilliantly.

There's 15 players there congratulating each other, all the forwards are getting a pat on the back there, they've absolutely demolished the Australian scrum, there's nothing better than dominating your opposition in the opening minutes.

Converted try - England 7-0 Australiapublished at 2 mins

    Jonny May (con Farrell)

    Breakthrough!

England bulldoze the Australia tight five, sending the scrum into rising retreat.

Mark Wilson picks and pops at the back, Ben Youngs slings the pass wide on the blindside and Jonny May has the space to sneak in before Dane Haylett-Petty can cover across.

Conversion landed from near the touchline by Owen Farrell.

    England 0-0 Australia

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

A charge down dream there, Ben Youngs had done all the hard yards there.

Foley with a poor kick, that could of landed right in the bread basket of Youngs but we'll take the five metre scrum, what a start from England!

    England 0-0 Australia

An early scare for Australia as they fluff their exit strategy.

Ben Youngs is up like a starved ferret to charge down Dane Haylett-Petty's attempted boot clear. The ball loops up and is carried back over his own line and to temporary safety by a Wallaby.

England hooker Jamie George speaking to Radio 5 Live: "I'm very confident with my line-out throwing, if you look at statistics across the Premiership I'm one of the best. Yes, the New Zealand game wasn't great, but the Japan game after, I thought I threw well.

"When you have pressurised throws, hookers think beyond the line-out and you can't do that - you have to focus on what's happening ahead of you in that line-out there.

"There's between 30 and 50 calls which change week to week, I try to write them down at the start of the week and make sure I know them.

A grey winter's afternoon at Twickenham, the sky like a flat, dull lid over the top of the concrete stands, a day for big coats and proper gloves and hats from the start. England know that they must light it up today: after an autumn where they have shone only in patches, it is time for an 80-minute show.

  16. 'I know my players are ready'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2018

    England v Australia (15:00 GMT)

    michael CheikaImage source, Getty Images

Australia head coach Michael Cheika: "There’s been a bit of distraction, but you’ve got to deal with that, there are distractions that happen and you’ve got to get on and play.

"It’s very important us, to wear the Indigenous jersey, for all the players who represented the Indigenous Wallabies. It's important to channel the community and it’s part of our psyche to represent them, it’s about us becoming better people and sharing with them better, we want to represent them tonight and give them a performance they’ll be proud of.

"We’ve lost some winnable games this season but we’ve got back into tough games as well so we know we can show a lot of ticker. We’re going to have to go very deep into the well today and I know my players are ready for that."

Australia will wear their 'Indigenous' playing shirt today It features a design by artist Dennis Golding and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags on each sleeve.

The shirt was first worn in the 23-18 win over New Zealand in Brisbane last year.

"The Australian jersey means a lot always," Cheika told BBC Sport.

"But we want to show indigenous Australians that rugby is a game that represents them as well."

    Eddie JonesImage source, Getty Images

England head coach Eddie Jones talking to Radio 5 live: "I like playing against any country, obviously playing Australia there’s the emotional attachment but that won’t get in the way.

"I don’t think you ever have a magic formula to beat a team, you saw with Ireland and New Zealand last week, the All Blacks have got a 91% win rate and Ireland go and beat them. You’ve just got to be prepared for each game.

"It’s difficult to say with David Pocock's injury, maybe it’s staged, it’s a bit like an episode of Neighbours.

"We’re just focusing on our game and our preparation, we’re not focused on them."
