Big defence from Ireland there. England were producing fast ball and their runners were coming in waves. Ireland managed to get numbers round the corner and outflank England.

Daly’s try will give England real confidence.

Despite conceding so early, Ireland appeared unflustered and steadily increased the pressure until England finally cracked. When Healy scored, it had seemed inevitable.

But the speed of England’s response has given them a noticeable lift out on the field.

    Ireland 10-14 England

England's defensive line is still coming up fast and flat as the lactic starts to bite.

Ireland on halfway and struggling to make inroads.

The hosts resort to the box kick. But it is another towering take from Jonny May who has been Fort Knox under the high ball so far.

  12. 'Stockdale's got it horribly wrong'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2019

    Ireland 10-14 England

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

The bounce of the rugby ball can be torrid. The ball popped up for Jacob Stockdale and rather than go with two hands he's tried to tap it to himself to gather and got it horribly wrong.

    Elliot Daly (con Farrell)

Butterfingers at the back from Ireland!

And a big affirmation of Eddie Jones' decision to pick Elliot Daly at full-back.

The Wasps playmaker's teasing grubber kick is a bobbler for Jacob Stockdale.

He would have claimed it cleanly if it had not been for that pesky Jack Nowell.

Nowell's tackle dislodges the ball and all Daly has to do is dive on it.

Touchline extras from Owen Farrell and England have a nose of a lead once more.

Jack Nowell is getting his sleeves rolled up and his hands dirty. Big carries from the little man.

Henry Slade manages to get the ball to ground with Tadhg Furlong trying to keep him upright.

A bit of ping-pong as Owen Farrell and Robbie Henshaw swaps kicks.

Henshaw blinks first, scuffing one off his unfavoured boot and into touch for an England line-out on the 22m.

    Cian Murtagh

Elliot Daly’s selection at full-back had been under the microscope before this game and he’s seen plenty of action in these opening few minutes.

He showed his attacking brilliance when he fixed the last defender for Jonny May’s early try but in defence he badly misread a clearing kick by Conor Murray when he might have prevented it from going dead if he was better placed.

To add insult to injury, he got roundly jeered when he slipped as he chased after the loose ball to try for a quick line-out.

    Ireland 10-7 England

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

Throughout the year, the way Johnny Sexton has controlled the game, that's why he's world player of the year. He could obviously feel there was a bit more momentum with Ireland. Everyone backed that move off the line-out.

You don't stop him from there...

Cian Healy crunches through fellow loosehead Mako Vunipola at close quarter to score Ireland's first try.

Johnny Sexton lines up the extras. Tricky angle, but that slips down as smooth as a chilled stout.
