These are two titanic sides. France come in off a fantastic win over New Zealand in the autumn, but England put in a fantastic performance last week. But France, I think, just have the favourites tag.

I’ve been roaming Castle Park filming for a ‘Can you speak Donny?’ Instagram story (head to BBC Sport’s Instagram page to watch it!)

On my travels I came across Tracey, mum of centre Tatyana Heard, and Paul, dad of lock Catherine O’Donnell.

They had just met on the touchline and were going to watch the game together. Rugby friends!

It’s amazing to see the stands full of young rugby fans and players.

Alan Sampson has brought his 12-year-old daughter Isabelle. They usually watch England on TV but they live local so Isabelle is excited to be at the game today.

“I’m hoping it could be me out there one day,” she said.

In a new era for women's rugby, 28 England players were awarded full-time contracts in January, while today's visitors have to balance their rugby commitments with studies or work.

Nonetheless, the appetite for the women's game across the channel is growing fast, as 17,000 supporters turned out to watch France beat England in Grenoble last year.

Plenty of fans were already down at Castle Park a couple of hours before kick-off, hoping to see England warming up.

Chatting to the Doncaster locals, they’re absolutely loving having international rugby on their doorstep again. Four thousand four hundred tickets were sold in advance and people are still buying them on the doors. England played here against Canada in November, when they won 27-19, so will be hoping the Yorkshire support can help them to victory again today.
