An excellent start from England, a good catch from Watson and they worked the phases very well.

    England 0-0 Wales

That's good ground covered from Eddie Jones side and Tom Curry hits a great line to go scampering beyond the Wales defence.

He's got support in Joe Launchbury 20 metres out, but that's good scrambling from Wales to get back around.

    Lively start from England.

Liam Williams struggles to gather a fizzing pass but no bother for the visitors as they keep ball in hand and then boot high into the Twickenham breeze.

Now England with a first chance to string something together.

If they want to compete and genuinely win the World Cup, they have to be comfortable and want to be the best team in the world. You have to hold that title, embrace and use it to intimidate the opposition.

It's supposedly a sell-out, but there are quite a few spare seats as the teams come out.

Still a lot of noise though and Twickenham seems to have upgraded their pyrotechnics so that both flames and fireworks fire out of the pitchside boxes. Fancy.

You have literally got one game, if you are 33 or 34 on his (Eddie Jones’) list you have one outing to impress, which is a bit counter-intuitive for me.

  16. Jones 'just thinking about today'published at 13:49 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    England v Wales (14:00 BST)

England head coach Eddie Jones, speaking to Sky Sports: "World Cup warm-up games are about getting ready for the World Cup.

"We're looking to get our set-piece going, just the simple things today. All the players have worked really hard, they've had a four or five-week pre-season."

On who will make the 31-man squad, to be named on Monday: "The great thing about these games is there is a lot of noise around and it's about the ability of the players just to focus.

"I'm just thinking about the game."

  19. Jones 'knows how to prepare'published at 13:45 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

    England v Wales (14:00 BST)

England coach Eddie Jones has made light of the disruption that has blighted his team's build-up to the match.

As well as the late withdrawal of centre Henry Slade (knee), flanker Sam Underhill (toe) and would-be debutant wing Ruaridh McConnochie (hip) from the starting line-up, it has emerged that Ben Te'o and Mike Brown were dropped from the squad after an incident during the team's heat and humidity training camp in Italy last week.

"It's all part of a World Cup campaign - adapting, adjusting, bring people in and out, finding your role. It's a most fascinating time," said Jones.

"I have had four World Cups so I think I know how to prepare the team for the tournament."
