    Wales 0-0 England

A chorus of "Swing Low..." threatens to break out but is quickly gobbled up by boos inside the Principality.

George Ford looks to dab a kick into the path of Elliot Daly out wide, but just overcooks it slightly and the ball slips into touch.

Flanker Aaron Wainwright has been used in Wales' opening five lineouts which are functioning better than last week at Twickenham.

Wainwright has even stolen an England throw destined for Maro Itoje.

So while there are still problems at the scrum for Wales at least the lineout has improved.

    Wales 0-0 England

England put a wall of white shirts up on the 22, forcing Wales through 14 phases before leaping on the loose ball. Elliot Daly's punt is charged down but it falls fortunately for Joe Cokanasiga.

Ellis Genge thunders through a gap before being hauled down.

Neither team yet to land a real blow.

    Wales 0-0 England

Chance of three points for Wales, but Dan Biggar opts to hit the corner from 35 metres or so.

Wales will look to build something with the line-out 15 metres from home.

    Wales 0-0 England

Nice reverse grubber from Willi Heinz there, the England scrum-half looking for the powerful running of Joe Cokanasiga. The bounce doesn't break the winger's way but England soon get it back in hand.

Piers Francis looks to break the line, but he's wrapped up and cheers ring out around the Principality Stadium as Wales get the decision.

    Wales 0-0 England

A knock-on from Dan Biggar as he tries to chase a little dink in behind the England line. It hands Eddie Jones's side the scrum - Elliot Daly just got there first to put the Wales fly-half off.

The England pack came up trumps last weekend, and they win a penalty off the first scrum this afternoon.

Hang about... the Welsh aren't happy. Everyone in for a scramble on the turf, red and white bodies laid across one another like a high school bundle. And breathe.

Wales look very composed in moving the ball wide today.

Alun Wyn Jones has been in those wide areas more in the first five minutes than he did in the whole 80 last week.

If you wanted to see a prime example of the slight changes in tactics from Wales with Dan Biggar at 10 instead of the injured Gareth Anscombe, then the two towering but misplaced up and unders from Biggar will demonstrate that.

That will not deter Wales or Biggar though from trying to win the aerial battle.

    Wales 0-0 England

Good ball from the hosts early on as they flick it wide right, but who's that with chalk on his boots? Alun Wyn Jones... the Wales skipper doesn't quite have the acceleration to thunder up the line and but keeps it alive and eventually Wales look to go long.

    Wales 0-0 England

Elliot Daly takes the mark after Wales look to execute a high, cross-field kick. Easily taken by the England full-back in the end.

Wales take the high route again, and again Daly is underneath it.

If the build-up to this match has felt like a pre-season friendly at times, the gusto with which Wales hooker Ken Owens belted the anthem is a timely reminder of how much any Wales-England match matters.

Late change for Wales. Leigh Halfpenny starts at full-back instead of Liam Williams, who had a slightly tight hamstring during the warm-up, according to the Welsh Rugby Union.

This will be Halfpenny's first appearance for Wales this year. He last played against Australia in November 2018, when he suffered a concussion which kept him out of action for months.

  17. 'Wales are going to bring all that emotion'published at 14:12 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Wales v England (14:15 BST)

We're a few minutes from kick-off, and Eddie Jones says he'll be looking for how players "back up and perform game on game" today.

"The second thing is we’re playing against a certain opposition that play a certain way so we want to be able to handle their tactics and be able to adapt and find a way to win," he added.

"We know that Wales are going to bring all that emotion and pride playing at home."

    Wales v England (14:15 BST)

The Principality Stadium always provides fireworks (metaphorical as well as physical) but the atmosphere will be all the more intense because the roof is closed today, something England captain George Ford is actually grateful for.

"We’ve got a couple of games in Japan with the roof closed so it will be great practice for us," he said.

"We’ve played there before with the roof closed. It’s definitely an atmosphere to embrace. What a brilliant place to play.

"You grow up as a kid watching these games on TV and think, ‘I’d give anything to be there’ so when you get the opportunity to do it you want to make the most of it."

  20. 'Heinz calm and collected'published at 14:09 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Wales v England (14:15 BST)

Scrum-half Willi Heinz makes his second start for England today, with regular starter Ben Youngs on the bench.

Eddie Jones has tried out several nines during his time in charge, including Ben Spencer, Dan Robson and Richard Wigglesworth, but Heinz eventually got the World Cup call.

On his BBC Radio 5 Live Rugby Show, Matt Dawson explained why he thinks the 32-year-old has been included in England's squad.

"Eddie Jones wants a certain type of nine in his squad," he said.

"I think Willi Heinz is probably the only player who can challenge to start the game ahead of Ben Youngs. I think that will bring more out of Ben.

"The World Cup is not won in the pool stages, it's probably not won in the quarter-finals. You have to have players who in the biggest games of their lives can pull out the basics.

"Heinz seemed to fit in and play that international game pretty well. He didn’t look panicked. He just looked very calm and collected."
