Wales centre Jonathan Davies refuses to share a room with his brother James - who he says is too messy - but he'll make an exception today.

That's because they'll both be in the home dressing room at the Principality Stadium, ready to become the first brothers to play for Wales since Jamie and Nicky Robinson in 2006.

I caught up with Jonathan 'Fox' Davies earlier this week to see how he's looking forward to lining up alongside his little brother James, or 'Cubby' as he's known.

I think Liam Williams is probably already on the plane. You don't need to risk him. It's a perfect opportunity to get Leigh Halfpenny in there and show his hand.

    Wales v England (14:15 BST)

Last weekend, England got off to a fast start and Wales were unable to respond, but Wales international Jamie Roberts reassured fans on BBC Radio 5 Live.

"It was rusty," he said. "They looked tired at times but trust me, it’s all part of the grand plan.

"Wales want to be the fittest side at the World Cup and they probably would have been concentrating a bit more on that than on rugby. They’ve got another three Test matches, there’s a lot of changes still to come."

  5. 'The most diverse England team I've ever seen'published at 14:04 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Wales v England (14:15 BST)

Former England wing Ugo Monye spoke in the Guardian, external this week about how proud he was of the diversity in Eddie Jones' World Cup squad.

And forward Maro Itoje agrees, saying:

"We have a very diverse squad in terms of the club we play for and where we come from, how we were raised.

"This England team is, I’m pretty sure, the most diverse England team that’s ever been – definitely the most diverse England team I’ve ever seen.

"It’s great because you get to learn, you get to see other people’s point of view, you get an insight into the way other people think.

"Rugby is a game for all. It’s a game truly where everyone can take part – it’s very important that we try and get that across."

Liam Williams looks like he might have a problem, the full-back was spotted heading off a minute ago - and it's just been confirmed the full-back has been ruled out.

    Leigh Halfpenny replaces him.

Unsurprisingly, Eddie Jones isn't interested in world rankings chat...

"That’s the first I’ve heard of it," he said. "It’s no use having a discussion with me because the only thing I’m focussed on is the game."

After missing out on the chance to take top spot in the world rankings last weekend, Wales will climb to the summit of the international game for the first time if they beat England today.

However if England manage to win by more than 15 points they would become the world's number one team. That is despite reigning world champions New Zealand thrashing Australia earlier in the day.

Within the last 12 months Gareth Anscombe has been key to the Welsh team and everything they've done.

It's a huge loss but it's an opportunity. I can't see that being the only injury we're going to pick. We don't have the strength in depth that other sides have so we have to manage our players.

At some point Alun Wyn Jones has to have a little breather.

There are few things more cruel in sport than an injury which rules a player out of a World Cup, and Gareth Anscombe's absence has been keenly felt in the Wales squad this week.

One of the fly-half's oldest friends in the team is centre Hadleigh Parkes, who he played alongside for Auckland in New Zealand before the two were Wales internationals.

In his latest BBC Sport column, Parkes explains how he consoled Anscombe after his injury, and then looks forward to today's rematch with England.

  12. Anscombe injury 'a massive blow'published at 13:52 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Wales v England (14:15 BST)

After leaving the pitch injured during last week's match, Wales fly-half Gareth Anscombe has been ruled out of the World Cup because of a knee injury.

Jamie Roberts, who last played for Wales in 2017, says it's "a massive blow" for the team.

"I’m devastated for Gareth," he added. "He’s been a pivotal part of Wales’ winning run. To lose your starting outside half is brutal, especially at this time.

"Dan Biggar has been an important part of what’s happened as well. It’s no real surprise to me that he’s starting. The lads have to plough on. They’ve got a lot of quality in the squad.

"What is for certain, one of Jarrod Evans or Rhys Patchell have to put their hand up at Test level."

England coach Eddie Jones, speaking to Channel 4: "It's great for us, these games are about preparing for the World Cup - we'll have four games on the trot in the pool and have to have versatile and utility players. Jack Singleton (on the bench) gets his chance today.

"All we're worried about is ourselves. The opposition will be strong, the crowd will be loud which is fantastic for us."

There has been some time for a bit of fun in the England camp this week. Wing Jonny May treated the crowd to a drum solo at an event in Bristol.

"Jonny’s backed himself on the drums so he decided to entertain a few people," said England captain George Ford.

"I think he was asked to be fair. We try to invest as much time off the field as off it. Whether that’s something as simple as going for a coffee or dinner together."

England were very good last weekend. It's the physicality of this English team which we failed to match last week.

It's going to be a very interesting tactical battle but we've got to meet them physically at the contact area.

More on the news Bath wing Ruaridh McConnochie has been ruled out of England's second Rugby World Cup warm-up match against Wales this afternoon.

He was set to make his Test debut in Cardiff but has "a minor muscle strain", said England Rugby.

The 27-year-old will be replaced by club-mate Anthony Watson.

Former Sevens player McConnochie was also due to start in last Sunday's 33-19 victory at Twickenham, but was a late withdrawal due to a hip injury.

England were without a back-three replacement on the bench, so Watson has been called up after initially being left out of the matchday squad. Exeter's Jack Nowell is still recovering from an ankle injury.

McConnochie, who only switched from sevens to 15-a-side rugby last summer, was named in Jones' 31-man squad for the World Cup in Japan on Monday.
