The big one is the Ford-Farrell debate. For George Ford every time he plays, he plays well. He always comes under scrutiny. It's the big games, the South Africas and New Zealands, where you question the goal-kicking. But every time he's under scrutiny he plays well.

Will Hooley, who was born in England and plays for Bedford in the Championship, is stretchered off. Plenty of England players give him a pat of commiserations as he goes.

    England 45-0 United States

    This is not nice.

United States' full-back Will Hooley has come down nastily from an aerial duel.

England were streaming forward in search of an eighth try, but referee Nic Berry calls play back immediately to get treatment to the American.

Good call and George Ford says 'no problem' when he has it explained to him.

Just a word on Joe Cokanasiga - he's not had his best game, he's lost the ball and not been dominant aerially, but he's a try-scorer to his bootstraps.

Can you hear that rumbling sound?

That is a baby rhino on the loose in Kobe. Ellis Genge does what he does, getting free and leaving three would-be tacklers flat on their backs.

England have oceans of space to work with and Joe Cokanasiga does not need asking twice.

He motors in and George Ford sticks the conversion over.

    England 38-0 United States

    Chris Jones
BBC rugby union correspondent at the Kobe Misaki Stadium

They're running on fumes now the States. We see now after the replays why things flared up. It's a dangerous hit, a shoulder charge and that's why England's forwards got so animated.

  7. 'Poor decision'published at 13:32 British Summer Time 26 September 2019

    England 38-0 United States

    Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

I have a bit of sympathy for John Quill because he has run himself into the ground and his brain has turned to mush.

He has seen an opportunity with Owen Farrell knocking on, and I know it's bad, but in the heat of the battle he has just made a really poor decision. With the laws that we all know, a shoulder to the face, you are off.

  8. Postpublished at 75 mins

    England 38-0 United States

United States coach Gary Gold looks on from on high, chewing his fingernails. His side have not made much of an impression on the England defence and that red card for John Quil takes out a key man from them next game at least.

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

John Quill has effectively tackled Owen Farrell how you would break down a door with your arms tucked by your side.

    No excuses.

    It’s a red card.

    England 38-0 United States

    Danny Care
Harlequins and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a good job Owen Farrell has got a strong jaw. It could have been a broken jaw and tournament over. It's the most blatant red card you'll ever see. He took a cheap shot and got what he deserved.

  11. Postpublished at 73 mins

    England 38-0 United States

That red card has incited a bit more urgency out of England.

Anthony Watson, hand-off firing like a piston, make yards through the middle before Owen Farrell's deft kick ahead sets up a foot race for the corner.

Joe Cokanasiga gets there first but cannot gather the bobbling ball cleanly and the knock-on gives the States a scrum in the shadow of their own posts.

  12. Red card - USA's John Quillpublished at 69 mins

    England 38-0 United States

"He tried to pull out of it," says captain Blaine Scully to referee Nic Berry.

That argument is laughed out of court. A nailed-on stone-cold red card.

And Nic Berry dispatches John Quill with little fuss. Fully deserved and the first red of the tournament.

He's effectively nutted Owen Farrell on the side of the head. That could be Quill's night and possibly tournament over.

  15. Farrell taken outpublished at 69 mins

    England 38-0 United States

John Quill is surely walking here.

The American flanker has gone with a late head-high shoulder shot on Owen Farrell.

The whistle had already gone. Farrell pops up and is arguing the score.

The ref is looking at the video...

    Ice with that?

Order another batch to the United States dressing room because Blaine Scully's ankles will be in need of it after he was left dancing the fandango by George Ford's sidestep.

That opens up the space and Lewis Ludlam has a walk-in.

    Extras from Ford.

Jonathan Joseph with some lovely skills.

We keep seeing replays of the Piers Francis tackle in the first half and he might have a problem there. There was head and shoulder contact.

  20. Replacementpublished at 62 mins

England have made a change out wide. Anthony Watson, who has looked the sharpest off all England's wings so far in Japan, is on in place of Ruaridh McConnochie.
