I think that is absurd. You are opening a dangerous can of worms. He's tucked his arm and there's nothing saying that's illegal - if you slow it down, everything looks worse. I think it's dangerous ground and you're going to end up with a game with no contact at all.

I think it's more innocuous than it looks when you slow it down.

Samu Kerevi has been pinged by the video official for leading with a forearm into collision with Rhys Patchell.

It is an indirect contact with Patchell's throat via his chest.

Michael Hooper is not having any of it.

The Aussie captain goes on the offence in the debrief with Romain Poite, accusing Patchell of "terrible tackle technique."

    Penalty Wales anyway...

Australia are having inroads when they get opportunities, they look OK and are making breaks. However, they have turned the ball over too many times and that's not allowed them to put any pressure on Wales, but they're in the game.

Wales hearts are in mouth as Marika Koroibete revs up in space down the left wing.

But there was a knock-on just before wasn't there?

    Wasn't there?

There was. Hadleigh Parkes threw enough of his shoulder into James O'Connor to force the Aussie centre to cough up the pill.

Rhys Patchell has looked very composed, he hasn't put a foot wrong since he came on. A fantastic strike to get that extra three points for Wales a few moments ago and a good pick up from his first pass.

Will this game be won high in the Swiss Alps where Wales did their high-altitude pre-tournament training camp?

It is going to really test both squads' depth and conditioning as we get into the last quarter.

I can't help feeling the intensity is starting to tell. It's telling on the Wallabies, the frenetic pace is really hurting us.

    There she blows.

The gap is back to five. But this game has more twists and turns in store for us.

Michael Hooper is pinged for a nibble too many at the breakdown.

Rhys Patchell is going to take a shot at goal, 30m out and a bit of angle. Should be three though.

    Bernard Foley

Bernard Foley makes amends after his shanked conversion attempt earlier in the match and moves the Wallabies back within two points.

This is an absolute lung-buster of a Test match, frenetic in the furnace-like heat.

It was a great break from Australia. They went 70 metres. Samu Kerevi has been called on so many times he just didn't quite have the legs to gas the Wales defence.

Dan Biggar got his head on the wrong side of a tackle attempting to stop Australia giant centre Samu Kerevi from scoring.

It was an effective tackle if not technically proficient. Biggar goes off for a head injury assessment and is replaced by Rhys Patchell who has had his own issues with concussions in the last couple of seasons.

    Wales 10-5 Australia

Back down the other end! Real basketball end-to-end stuff.

And Dan Biggar comes up with a tackle that is big on bravery and low on technique to deny the flying Samu Kerevi as he looks to fly over in the corner.

It prevents the try, but Biggar, whose head was the wrong side of the collision, has headed off in a temporary switch with Rhys Patchell.

And Australia are going to have a shot at goal for a penalty won in the build-up.

Another marathon passage of play and it ultimately favours Wales as Aaron Wainwright, who is having a great game, buys time with a step and a stutter on one wing and then Justin Tipuric's quick hands free Josh Adams on the other.

Australia just about tidy up in the shadow of their own posts.

Liam Williams has knocked on as the Wales full-back takes to the skies in pursuit of a Dan Biggar hoof.

The referee initially misses it, but the Australia players helpfully direct Romain Poite to the big screens in Tokyo Stadium.

    Decision overturned.

    Great composure from the Wallabies!

That was an interesting conversion from Bernard Foley, interesting ball flight, didn't strike it well.

Veteran Australia wing Adam Ashley-Cooper is playing his 14th Test against Wales and has never lost against them.

And after being brought back into the side, he has again proved a thorn in the side of Wales after latching onto Bernard Foley's chip kick and cleverly finishing for Australia's first try.

A golden oldie for the Green and Gold.

Thirty-five year-old wing Adam Ashley-Cooper gathers Bernard Foley's cross-field kick, cuts inside the last defender and scrambles over.

Wales defence was chasing back after Samu Kerevi had barnstormed into their 22m.

Foley fluffs an easy conversion shot though.
