There might have been just one game today at the Rugby World Cup, but it was certainly entertaining.

Seven tries, uncontested scrums, a nasty-looking red card, a South African World Cup points record broken and Italy's Sergio Parisse becoming the second-most capped Test player in history.

BBC Sport will have live text commentary of all three matches on Saturday and both of Sunday's games, including England's key clash with Argentina in Tokyo.

On paper Italy still have a chance to make the knockout stages.

But to do it they will have to beat New Zealand - and they have never come close to beating the All Blacks in their history.

Plus with two injured tightheads and a loosehead prop who will be banned for the red card Italy will have the biggest of uphill battles to qualify.

England are the only home nation in action - they face Argentina in their toughest pool game so far at 09:00 BST on Saturday.

If you are an early riser you can catch Australia's clash with Uruguay at 06:15 BST - Los Teros upset Fiji in their opening game while the Wallabies need a win after losing to Wales last time out.

Saturday is rounded off with hosts Japan taking on Samoa at 11:30 BST - victory in Toyota for the Brave Blossoms will see them go above Ireland at the top of Pool A as they aim to make the knockout stages for the first time.

If you like tries be sure to set your alarm for early on Sunday morning - New Zealand take on winless outsiders Namibia in Tokyo at 05:45 BST before France play Tonga in the same pool as England at 08:45 BST.

Scotland hooker Fraser Brown says his side's upcoming matches against Russia and Japan are "two of the biggest games of my career".

Since losing to Ireland in their opening match the Scots have been on the back foot in Pool A, a situation not helped by Japan's shock win over the Irish last week.

With 10 of Scotland's 31-man squad aged 30 or above, Brown is aware time is running out for them as they look to avenge their heartbreaking 35-34 loss to Australia in the 2015 quarter-finals.

"We're playing for a place in the knockout stages of the World Cup," Brown said. "For a lot of guys, this might be the last tournament. When you take all that in and look at the context, it's probably two of the biggest games of my career."

Adam Beard is back in training with the Wales squad, but could have been at the centre of a mid-air emergency had he got on his team's flight to Japan last month.

The 23-year-old Ospreys lock was taken ill at Heathrow airport as Wales were about to board their plane and later that day had keyhole surgery for an inflamed appendix.

While he may not be fit to play until Wales' final pool match against Uruguay, he is just happy he was on terra firma when illness truck.

"It was lucky I didn't get on the plane," he said.

"That could have been dangerous. The doctors were all saying that. They were saying they would probably have had to get the plane to make an emergency landing."

Beard eventually arrived in Wales 10 days late and was fined by his team-mates for his tardiness, as well as wearing the wrong kit and losing weight!

South Africa's only downer on today's win is the late injury to superstar winger Cheslin Kolbe.

The right-flank flier went down clutching his left leg after being caught after a long break towards the end of the game.

Along with Makazole Mapimpi on the other flank they have provided some exciting, try-scoring flair to this Springbok side.

South Africa ground down Italy, it didn't help that Andrea Lovotti got himself sent off but the Springboks are a big, powerful, physical side who on their day can beat anybody in this tournament.

So in the end a comfortable win for South Africa.

But Italy will wonder what might have been.

They lost tighthead Simone Ferrari after two minutes with a hamstring injury and his replacement Marco Riccioni had to go off with a head injury 20-or-so minutes later.

Then another prop, Andrea Lovotti, went and got himself rightly sent off shortly after the restart and the 14 men of Italy had no chance.

Seven tries, some excellent play from winger Chelson Kolbe and Makazole Mapimpi and South Africa are all but certain of a quarter-final place.

So that's it and South Africa have dominated 14-man Italy with a seven-try victory to all but ensure a quarter-final berth.

Andrew Priestley: Kolbe has been exceptional on both sides of the ball. Electric with the ball in hand finding gaps and space while being ferocious and accurate in defence. A complete international winger.

What a run by Cheslin Kolbe as he breaks from his own 22 and deep into Italian territory.

Fair play to Italy's replacement back Callum Braley who chases him down and holds him up.

Worryingly for South Africa Kolbe has just limped off the field.

Concerning times for the Springboks....

Italy kept on fighting but since they've gone down to 14 men in this second half they have been so far inferior.

That moment of stupidity from Andrea Lovotti to get that red card took away any hope that Italy might have had.

A lovely flowing move through the South African backs sees try-scorer Makazole Mapimpi held up three metres from the Italian line on the left wing.

It seems just a matter of time before South Africa go over again.

It's been a professional performance from the Springboks, they've not been perfect but they have continued to build through the game.

Matteo Minozzi is back on his feet and ready for the final 10 minutes as Italy look to get a consolation try.

There's a break in play as Italy full-back Matteo Minozzi has treatment.

It looks like cramp, but his right leg is also heavily strapped so might be more sinister.

Italy have a rare period of possession but the 14 men in blue shirts are looking really tired now.

They're forced back and eventually have to kick it clear for a Springbok line-out 10m inside the Italian half.
