Do South Africa have the world's most powerful pack?

Kyle: I disagree with Rory. I think with the forward pack that England have and some of our backs as well, which are huge, I think we have the most power in the competition. England's forwards are formidable - South Africa have a great forward pack too though.

    South Africa 10-3 Italy

Italy are having their best spell of possession so far - Gloucester's Jake Polledri has a good run while a box kick from Tommaso Allan sees the Italians put pressure on Handre Pollard and they win an uncontested scrum deep in South African territory.

So Marco Riccioni has a head injury, and with no tightheads left we have uncontested scrums for the next 10 minutes.

Riccioni was the replacement after Simone Ferrari was hurt two minutes in.

Could be interesting in 10 minutes' time......

South Africa are a quality side, they missed a few opportunities when they played the All Blacks but the power that they have shown particularly upfront, they've arguably got the most powerful pack in world rugby.

Italy win a scrum as Faf de Klerk drops the ball after the Springboks had won the line-out.

Scrum to Italy and a first test of Riccioni's rib which he seems to pass as Italy win the ball and break forward with Michele Campagnaro.

Marco Riccioni is back on, but South Africa have the ball.

It's called back after Italy hooker Luca Bigi came into a ruck from the side and South Africa kick for the corner again.

    More problems for Italy?

Their first-choice tighthead Simone Ferrari lasted two minutes, his replacement Marco Riccioni is hurt after a tackle on Lood De Jager.

He looks in a lot of discomfort - looks like a rib injury and not what Italy need in a game where the front rows will be key.

Italy will be pleased. They've conceded a try early and Conor O'Shea will be gutted but they've reacted well.

Huge pressure by the South Africans and they almost go over, but lose the ball on their right wing.

But play is brought back and it'll be a penalty to the Springboks.

Italy respond - Bongi Mbonambi is naughty on the floor with a silly decision to put hands on the ball after a crunching tackle and Italy win the penalty mid-pitch, 35 metres out and Allan sticks it over.

    South Africa 7-0 Italy

What a finish, it was just brutality, there were seven phases with a combined total of seven passes leading to that try.

Cheslin Kolbe has no right to score that, devilish footwork.

Lovely pass out to Cheslin Kolbe on the South Africa right and he skips in at the corner.

Really well set up by some brutal forward play from the Springboks which blew the Italians away and set up Willie Le Roux to send the ball wide.

    Handre Pollard adds the extras.

    South Africa 0-0 Italy

South Africa break down the right after winning the ball at the scrum, but Makazole Mapimpi is offside as Cheslin Kolbe kicks it forward.

We go back for an Italian infringement at the scrum and South Africa kick deep and win the line-out - good position for the Springboks.

  16. Replacementpublished at 2 mins

    South Africa 0-0 Italy

This doesn't look good for Italy, just two minutes in and tighthead Simone Ferrari is down with an injury to his left leg.

It looks like his game is over already - nasty looking crunch in the scrum and it seems his hamstring has gone.

Marco Riccioni comes on - it'll be a long evening for him.

If it was down to a singing contest and emotion shown I think Italy win that when signing the anthems.

That was probably a nine out of 10 from Italy versus South Africa's seven out of 10.

A box kick from Faf de Klerk and we end up with a scrum which Italy have the put-in for.

They win the scum and try to get away, but turn the ball over to the Springboks.

But there's an infringement and we come back for an Italian scrum so the Azzuri get away with it.

South Africa v Italy (10:45 BST)

    Rory Lawson
Former Scotland captain on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Italy have a bit of momentum getting 10 points from their two games coming into this one, they have been targeting this match, they understand that South Africa have been knocked over by the All Blacks.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves, Italy have only ever beaten South Africa once before three years ago, it's a big, big challenge.

The pressure is on South Africa, they're expected to win the World Cup.
