The camera moves onto Australia coach Michael Cheika, with his head in his hands.

    Australia 19-3 Uruguay

Uruguay have shown plenty of grit and determination but they have just lacked that clinical edge their opponents possess.

They attempt to run a move off the line-out but Felipe Berchesi's pass goes behind his centres and the ball drops to the ground.

    Disappointing.

Really well-worked move. Just simple hands, nice square catching and passing, and Petaia gives Kuridrani the easiest of run-ins. Australia are being very clinical, when they do get those opportunities to strike wide, they're taking them.

Try - Australia 19-3 Uruguaypublished at 30 mins

    Tevita Kuridrani

    Clinical.

Australia have played with 14 men for large periods of this half but they have already racked up their third try.

Michael Hooper steals the ball on the ground and the Wallabies run down the other end. Jordan Petaia does well before feeding Tevita Kuridrani to run in under the posts.

But Christian Lealiifano misses his first kick of the day from the conversion.

Brilliant work by Freitas in what, a metre of space? He beats one, two, three Australia defenders down that touchline and gives his team huge momentum. Great stuff, just that last pass not quite coming off for Berchesi - he went for the no-look over the shoulder but it didn't quite come off.

  8. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Australia 14-3 Uruguay

Nicolas Freitas is a real threat and he dances through a couple of tackles again.

Each step is cheered on by the crowd and Uruguay get the penalty for a high tackle by Kurtley Beale.

It's kicked to touch and Uruguay will have the line-out deep in the Australia half.

That's a brilliant moment for Petaia, he can just savour that. He'll have that for the rest of his life - to score on your Rugby World Cup debut. It was a brilliant finish.

    Australia 7-3 Uruguay

Uruguay apply plenty of pressure at the scrum and they have unsettled Australia early on.

Juan Diego Ormaechea gets his hands over the ball brilliantly but the referee orders another five-metre scrum to the Wallabies.

    That's unlucky.

The player's reaction is always key, and Hooper was screaming that he got that down. It was a brilliant ball inside form Lealiifano. Sometimes referees need to be backed and if he's confident it's the right call, then go with it.

Hooper's been denied a try so he never would be happy with the referee!

Agustín Ormaechea hesitates at the base of the ruck and he feels the full force of the Wallaby front row as they come through to take him out.

The scrum-half then concedes a penalty by playing the ball on the ground.

These are the little moments games which gives Tier 1 nations the edge.

I think it's a bit harsh. Definitely a high tackle but I don't think it requires a yellow card. He was ducking into it and Coleman's a big lad.

I would've loved to see them go for the scrum again, I thought they got a decent nudge on. I guess they want to get some reward for the territory they've had so it's probably the right decision to kick.

It's great from them to get some points on the board. Great response.
