England got it absolutely right. The quality of some of the tackling - you were never two passes away from a dominant hit and they picked when to go in and compete almost perfectly. England spent the whole of the second half forcing New Zealand to play out from their own third. They were physically and mentally dominant today.

  2. Itoje named as England's man of the matchpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

    FT: England 19-7 New Zealand

There were some monster performances out there from England.

Sam Underhill, Tom Curry, Manu Tuilagi and George Ford deserve special mentions in dispatches.

This will mean more to us than it does to those boys. You're never going to be remembered for winning a semi-final. This means nothing to these boys unless they win next week. This is what the pain and anguish of hours and hours at the gym was for. It's a huge sacrifice to be a part of this team.

  4. England into World Cup finalpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 26 October 2019

England captain Owen Farrell calls his team into a huddle.

You don't need to be a lip-reader to guess his speech.

He is already zeroing in on next Saturday and the World Cup final.

Right across the pitch, you couldn't pick an English guy who didn't stand up today and perform.

As soon as England lined up for the haka, pushing up to halfway with Owen Farrell smirking straight back down the barrel, you knew we were in for drama.

And that match delivered in spades and shedloads.

Matthew Thorne: What a performance. To a man England were outstanding. The whole team man of the match. To beat NZ is one thing to be the first team to beat them at a World Cup in 12 years... Wow! I'm nearly in tears here

Robin Smit: That's why sport is so amazing. Results are never a foregone conclusion. The All Blacks thought it was going to be an easy victory but England were amazing in a departments today. Well done England

Small Man Peaky: That scoreline flatters New Zealand. England utterly dominant in every aspect.

That's what we expected from this team. We know they can defend like their lives depend on it, like Tasmanian devils. Even to the last second, they wanted to shut them out. Their organisation, their tactics, were just totally first-class. The players, the subs, everyone nailed this today, utterly nailed it.

They were absolutely outstanding from one to 23. Yes, they made the odd mistake, but they were just huge. Itoje was amazing, the front row was awesome, Curry and Underhill were everywhere.

To see the All Blacks, with that much-vaunted attack, going backwards in the tackles, was just incredible.

New Zealand don't get much practice at losing.

They do it with dignity though.

Kieran Read, spilling claret from a cut above his eye, is pressing the flesh and congratulating England players.

Ardie Savea gives Sam Underhill a hearty slap on the back.

The Supreme Meme: The best I've ever seen England play. Well done lads, each and every one of you! Take a bow Eddy Jones

Ben Wire: Crying. Match of the year (so far!). A vintage year for England sport.

Kenny Kong: England has been sensational today - very disciplined, and only 2 mistakes all game, 1 led to a disallowed try & the other led to the only All Blacks score. Great team performance. On to the Final we go
