Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live
Poor restart from England, then Ford overhits his up-and-under. The exact opposite of what you wanted to settle some nerves at the start of the second half.
England 6-12 South Africa
George Ford gets us back up and running. England have 40 minutes to find their groove, pull this match out the fire and write their name in rugby history.

There is a shot of the England dressing room.
Eddie Jones has called his men into a huddle and is delivering his motivational message.
He has made a change as well. George Kruis is on in place of Courtney Lawes. Will that shore up the scrum and line-out?

Both of South Africa’s previous Rugby World Cup final matches have been tryless affairs - 15-12 v New Zealand in 1995 and 15-6 v England in 2007).
Third time's the charm. Right?

Philip: It’s gritty, ugly, and primitive from South Africa, but it’s working. They’re swamping us with their physicality and we’ve been completely out-muscled. Barring a miracle, it’s going to be a third world title for the Springboks.
John: I'm changing pub...

Matt Dawson
England World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live
They were very late to the ground today. I'm not sure that gives an excuse for that first half performance. They're not going through the sets, they're not getting into the opposition half in control, but when they do they're looking dangerous.

Ben: To be a fly on the wall in the England dressing room at half-time... This is South Africa's to lose
Theo: A week's a long time in rugby... the only positive in the first half is England are still in this. We haven’t done a single thing right
The Supreme Meme QC: England have absolutely bottled this

Wow.
That wasn't what England fans were expecting. As always, Owen Farrell gathers the team in a huddle for a few words before heading down the tunnel. I imagine Eddie Jones has a few things to say once they get to the dressing room...

Go to the well boys. Everybody shut their mouths in the dressing room and listen to the coaches. It tends to happen when you go behind that everyone gets their panic on. We should be doing this, that... Shut it. Change the shirt, change the shorts, come out as a new, fresh team in that second forty.

Eddie Jones has a big patch-up job to do. His side are being monstered in the scrum. And it is difficult to win any game, never mind a World Cup final, taking on that volume of water,
Handre Pollard
That right boot is swinging like a metronome soaked in cod liver oil.
South Africa edge six points ahead as the teams head down the tunnel.
England 6-9 South Africa
South Africa with a scrum on the England 10m line. Jerome Garces tells England to stay down, set and solid as South Africa tighten the vice.
Dan Cole cannot dig in the crampons though.
Penalty to the Boks with the clock in the red. Pollard who landed a far harder one just a couple of minutes ago is going to have the final say in the first half...

Amy: SA defence annoyingly impenetrable!
Cordelia: Watching the game in Mandalay, Burma! 15 Brits, a few South Africans and a Spaniard! Come on England - we’re cheering for you
SeriousFace: De Klerk should be sin-binned. Two blatant and cynical offsides with every intention of slowing down England ball.
Handre Pollard
That strike should be subject to a special tax it was so sweet.
Handre Pollard hits the back of the ball perfectly to land a monster penalty and edge his side back ahead.
