  2. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

It's another cheap penalty given away by Scotland, this time for offside. Owen Farrell will get an identical chance, you wouldn't expect him to miss again..

  3. Missed penalty - Scotland 0-0 Englandpublished at 8 mins

    Owen Farrell

It's wide-left of the posts and the wind holds it up and the ball sails wide. Let-off for Scotland, missed opportunity by England but their kicking from hand has been clever so far.

    Scotland 0-0 England

    Matt Dawson

Stuart Hogg spills another up-and-under and England are on the charge, and get the penalty as Scott Cummings is pinged for not rolling away.

Owen Farrell points to the posts...

  6. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

Another Owen Farrell kick causes some issues. Both sides are happy to put boot to ball at the moment in these blustery conditions. Scotland have a line-out in their own half.

  7. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

You can already see the effect of the wind as one England kick almost goes backwards as it's hoisted into the air. Then Owen Farrell pings one right down into Scotland's corner. Superb stuff by the England captain.

  8. 'Questionable start'published at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Scotland 0-0 England

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

England had a questionable start and did not manage to cope with the kick off considerably well, but it's good work by Maro Itoje.

  9. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

Really good work by the English defence as Maro Itoje frees the ball from Scotland scrum-half Ali Price's grasp. They then get the penalty and can clear down the pitch.

  10. Postpublished at 1 mins

    Scotland 0-0 England

Scotland are rumbling forward just outside the England 22 here. Solid defence so far from the visitors.

    Scotland v England (16:45 GMT)

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland scrum-half on BBC One

I was down on Scotland's chances before the Six Nations, but what we saw last week in Ireland restores a bit of confidence and hope.

There were good performances and they have to use that as a benchmark.

    Scotland v England (16:45 GMT)

    Jeremy Guscott
Former England centre on BBC One

Adam Hastings is incredibly steady. What you want from your fly half is composure and to put your team in the right place.

Everything he did last weekend was so precise and he is playing beyond his years.

  17. 'Inflammatory'published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Scotland v England (16:45 GMT)

    Martin Johnson
Former England captain and coach on BBC One

Eddie Jones was quite vocal last week. The language he used was inflammatory and I wouldn't like my coach to be saying that as a player. They need to front up today.

  18. 'We'll have to dig deep' - Townsendpublished at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Scotland v England (16:45)

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has told BBC Scotland his side will need to remain in the fight for 80 minutes to get something.

"We've got to adapt to what England bring, we've got to do our fundamentals well. We know we'll have to dig deep for the 80 minutes, and we're prepared to do that," Townsend said.

On the potential impact of severe gales and rain Townsend said: "Just now the pitch is in great condition. It is windy bur I don't think it will favour one team or one half of the pitch because it's blustery. But we play rugby in winter and we know there's certain things you have to do differently if it's wet and one of them is to defend well."

Del: Naturally I hope England smash Scotland but I think the Scottish will nick this. England relied on two moments of class from one player to even save face last week; something similar could happen here today.

Andrew: This Scotland vs England match is a huge game for the Championship shake-up. England will beat Ireland next time out and Wales will beat France. All the big boys will then have lost at least a game each and it will all come down to points difference on the last day.

  20. Still no Russell for Scotspublished at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Scotland v England (16:45)

The good news for Scotland fans is that Gregor Townsend and Fly-half Finn Russell are speaking to each other, the bad news is that there is still no end in sight to the stand off between the pair.

Townsend said they spoke on Sunday night as the head coach told Russell he wouldn't be involved this week but asked by the media if it was a positive conversation, Townsend replied: "It was a conversation."

Make of that what you will.
