    Ireland 7-0 Georgia

Ireland have started very well. They are making yards, recycling quickly and varying things up in the backline.

Georgia infringe as they try to stem the flow of black-shirted runners.

Billy Burns is going to take a pop at the posts from 25m shy and central...

The odd thing in a game gives me goosebumps and I've just witnessed one there from Chris Farrell. It was beautifully soft hands, leading to a good try.

Converted try - Ireland 7-0 Georgiapublished at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2020

    Billy Burns (con Burns)

    Yep, try stands.

It was a lovely bit of backline bluff from Ireland. Chris Farrell came charging onto a short ball, nostrils huffing and hooves pounding.

But instead of taking contact he flipped a pop pass out the cat flap for Billy Burns who was looping behind him on a delayed line and found a hole to glide through to go under the posts.

Easy extras for the try scorer.

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

Billy Burns shows, goes and dives over.

A quick check on the grounding, but it looks good on first sight...

  5. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

The Ireland line-out looks a lot more secure than it did against England at Twickenham when the hosts were burgling at will.

A good dart from Rob Herring and Iain Henderson's charge takes Ireland up to within 5m...

  6. 'Massive game for Beirne'published at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2020

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

It is a massive game for Tadhg Beirne today. There is no doubt he brings the ability to win the ball at the breakdown but can he balance with CJ Stander at 8 and Will Connors at 7?

  7. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

A big turnover for Tadhg Beirne. That is what he does. Back row is competitive area of the team. Can he force his way up to first choice?

  8. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

First blood for Georgia at scrum time.

Ireland loose-head Finlay Bealham is pinged by the referee for an infringement and Georgia have a penalty to clear their lines.

Although they have not found touch...

  9. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

Stuart McCloskey gets his first crash ball and the Ulster man wades though a couple of Georgian tacklers as he makes yards.

That is canny from the number eight Beka Gorgadze who swats the ball out of McCloskey's hands as he looks to offload.

Knock-on Ireland. Scrum down to Georgia just 15m short of their own sticks.

  10. 'An encouraging start'published at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2020

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

    Tony Ward
Former Ireland fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

He was only on at the end last week Billy Burns and he produced a beautiful chip kick which Jacob Stockdale scored. We're only a couple of minutes in and he's just tried it again.

    An encouraging start.

  11. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

Ireland kicking cutely and and cleverly early on. Billy Burns with a deft chip that Chris Farrell nearly gets on the end of. And then Farrell himself grubbers through to put pressure on the Georgia back three.

A little early strife for Georgia nine Vasil Lobzhanidze whose ankle is accidentally studded by an inrushing Hugo Keenan.

No malice, but a lot of pain.

  12. Postpublished at 1 mins

    Ireland 0-0 Georgia

Georgia in their cerise home shirts claim the ball safely off kick-off.

Can the underdogs show a little more invention and innovation in attack as well as their trademark dog in defence?

Ireland are decked out in their black and hi-vis tabard yellow change strip. Thoughts on that look?

Billy Burns to get us going...

    Ian McKinley
Former Italy fly-half on BBC Radio Ulster

Given the opposition, I think Ireland will be given a bit of freedom.

If they play with pace and expansion, I think the Georgians will struggle.

    Ireland v Georgia (14:00 GMT)

Amazing how Ireland's Call was only written in 1995.

It has really worked. Compare it to that anthem that Sir Clive Woodward commissioned for the British and Irish Lions in 2005.

That has not aged as well.

    Kick-off incoming.

The Georgia anthem is a grade-A banger, soaring soprano vocals from the speakers and a Chewbacca full of facial hair among the chorus line on the pitch.

Johnny Sexton is on water boy duties once more. And kicking tee presumably.

    Ireland v Georgia (14:00 GMT)

It is a very eerie Aviva. Those massive stands empty, the only movement on the scrolling hoardings advertising Irish Rugby's fan's hashtag.

There is a moment of silence to remember Christophe Dominici, the former France wing who died last week.

Before the two team stand to attention for the national anthems.

If there was a moment to mark rugby against racism, I missed it getting a mention.

  18. 'I've been impatient' - McCloskeypublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2020

    Ireland v Georgia (14:00 GMT)

Ireland centre Stuart McCloskey, who will win his first cap in over two years today, told BBC Radio Ulster:

"I've been pretty impatient for the last five years so it will be good to get a run-out.

"It's tough. There are times that I thought I've been playing excellent but there's a lot of competition there.

"There's probably the most talent of any position in Ireland so you have to be at your best."

Ireland v Scotland 14:15 GMT (Aviva)

Wales v France 16:45 GMT (Parc y Scarlets)

I cannot think of anything more perfect than these conditions. The sun is shining and there is no wind. The perfect autumn conditions for rugby.
