It's been all Northampton so far but they cannot afford to make errors like that if they are to spring an upset.

Exeter put maybe only one man into the breakdown. That defensive wall is always there and they come up so quick. It is very difficult to make any inroads.

Exeter are back in possession and Jack Nowell breaks through a couple of tackles before being hauled down by the touchline.

But Saints continue to defend well and the hosts are unable to make any more yards.

Exeter look to make amends quickly but Northampton are brilliant at the breakdown and they win the penalty just inside their own half.

There might not be any fans inside Sandy Park, but that decision is met by an almighty from the visiting party.

That's as easy as it comes for Dan Biggar and Northampton are not here to lie down.

They take an early lead.

There is a real buzz and intensity about Northampton. They have not read all those predictions in the press.

Saints stuff the ball up the jumper and roll through the phases just metres out from the Exeter line.

The hosts' defence stands firm and repel the green and black line, but they concede a penalty in front of the posts.

This should be an easy three for Dan Biggar.

The Exeter line-out is not straight and Northampton have the ball. The ball is prodded through and Jack Nowell is tackled behind his own line.

Great early pressure by the visitors.

Northampton concede an early penalty for playing the ball on the ground. Exeter clear their lines and the hosts will have the line-out.

Dan Biggar gets us under way with a high kick into the bright Devon sunshine.

Northampton fly-half Dan Biggar speaking to BT Sport: "I don't think anyone here is going to be satisfied with just getting out the group and making a quarter-final.

"I think we need to keep making sure we're chasing success rather than just patting ourselves on the back for playing well now and again in the pool stages."

Speaking in the build-up, Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter said this is his side's "biggest game of the season so far".

"They [the players] should be getting ready to put in their biggest performance of the season," he said.

"As a group, we have to hope - and expect - that we see something special on the pitch at the weekend."

Toulouse joined Saracens and Racing 92 in the Champions Cup semi-final earlier, with a comfortable 36-8 victory over Ulster.

The French side scored five tries, including two from the fleet-footed South Africa winger Cheslin Kolbe.

John Cooney did claim a late consolation try for Ulster but it's Toulouse who will meet the winner of this evening's game in the last four.

Ulster coach Dan McFarland speaking to BT Sport: "They are a good team and when you make mistakes they are going to punish you. But we know we did not play like a quarter-final team today. We have not been good since the break. We are not playing well that is the bottom line. The set-piece was good and the forward worked hard around the park but in other areas we were not up to par."

Toulouse wing Cheslin Kolbe speaking to BT Sport: "Scoring is always great, but i must give credit to my team-mates. As a winger, without them we are nothing. They create the space for me to use. These quarter-finals are about opportunities and discipline. There is a lot that has been going on with covid, we just have to keep on working as hard as we can."
