  1. Wales patiencepublished at 8 mins

    Scotland 0-3 Wales

    Sam Warburton
Former Wales captain on BBC One

    Quote Message

I was just about to say it was good Scotland defence because they had been patient before they gave away the penalty. Wales will now look to be patient and keep the ball.

  2. Penalty - Scotland 0-3 Walespublished at 7 mins

    Leigh Halfpenny

Meat and drink for Leigh Halfpenny, right in front of the posts. Wales lead!

  3. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Wales

Wales batter through the phases on Scotland's 22, but don't really make any ground.

But then Chris Harris strays offside, and Wales have the chance for the game's first points.

Scotland gave away six penalties last week, and that's three already at Murrayfield.

  4. 'Carley a strict referee'published at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland 0-0 Wales

    Nigel Owens
Former World Cup final referee on S4C

Today's referee, Matt Carley, is similar to Wayne Barnes, who took charge of Wales' win over Ireland last weekend.

Like a lot of English referees, Carley is very strict at the breakdown.

The teams will have to show Carley a clear picture that they're on their feet at rucks and contesting the breakdown fairly.

  5. Welsh opportunitypublished at 4 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Wales

Wales' lineout - which was poor last week against Ireland - goes astray and Scotland can clear.

Leigh Halfpenny calls the mark and boots the ball down the pitch. A few phases later, and Matt Fagerson is penalised at the ruck.

Referee Matt Carley taking no nonsense. Wales now up to Scotland's 22.

  6. Postpublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

All the years I have been coming here, it's the first time I remember it snowing! It should put a bit of slippiness on the pitch.

  7. Fast startpublished at 2 mins

    Scotland 0-0 Wales

Ooft, an early chance for Scotland. A bit of kicking tennis ends with Stuart Hogg putting up a lovely up-and-under, which bounces just in from the touchline and Duhan van der Merwe almost gathers to race away.

Scrum Wales, though. They get the penalty, too.

  8. Kick-offpublished at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland 0-0 Wales

We're off at a freezing Murrayfield as Finn Russell kicks off.

Who's winning this one? Thumbs up for Scotland, thumbs down for Wales...

  9. Postpublished at 16:42 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

The teams are out, and we have had a minute's reflection, which is rugby's way of marking the fight against racism.

Here come the anthems. Wales first...

  10. 'Scotland favourites but Wales will have chances'published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

    Andrew Coombs
    Former Wales lock on S4C

Scotland are the favourites to win today.

Wales will have opportunities, though. We saw last weekend there were chances to attack which England did not take against Scotland.

Wales will need to play with width and create spaces.

  11. Lions watchpublished at 16:37 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

One of the most keenly-contested position in terms of Lions selection is openside flanker, and Wales' Justin Tipuric and Scotland's Hamish Watson were the two of the opening weekend's outstanding players.

Watson has ridiculous upper body strength for a man of his stature, and was immense with ball in hand last week as well as his usual breakdown nuisance.

Meanwhile Tipuric put in 29 - yes twenty-nine - tackles against Ireland last week, more than any other player. But not only was he a beast in defence, but a lynchpin in attack. The man could easily play as a centre, such are his handling skills.

It will prove to be a fascinating match-up.

Jamie: Looking forward to watching the game Scotland against Wales hoping Scotland can play the way they did last week and get the win against a very strong Welsh team.

Greg Davis: BBC wardrobe hard at work again with the obligatory chunky slip knot scarf draped on all pundits. Like it or not.

    All fashion criticisms welcome.

  13. A full tank for Scotland today?published at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

    Fraser Brown
Glasgow and Scotland hooker on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Although Scotland played very well last week, I don't think the game against England last week took too much out of them. It's not a performance that would have emptied the tank and hopefully we'll see that today.

  14. Back-three duelpublished at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

Scotland kicked ball away 43 times against England last week, but very few were wasted.

Finn Russell and Stuart Hogg orchestrated the match with the boot, and the back-three duel this evening will be intriguing.

Sean Maitland was outstanding under the high ball at Twickenham, and while the tenacious Hawick terrier Darcy Graham is arguably a greater threat with ball in hand, he'll need to show a different side to his game today, particularly against the returning Lion Liam Williams.

On the other side, Wales' Louis Rees-Zammit is electric and scored a fine try against Ireland. But the defensive side of his game will be severely tested up against the colossal Duhan van der Merwe.

    Mouth-watering stuff.

  15. Wales not had ideal week - Pivacpublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

Wales head coach told Wayne Pivac on BBC One: "It was a step in the right direction against Ireland but it was not the perfect performance. We need to keep the penalty count down today.

"We gave the boys an extra recovery day (after Ireland) and have ended pulling a few extra guys in.

"It has not been the most ideal week in terms of preparation but it was just very attritional and very physical against Ireland."

  16. England ease aside Italypublished at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021
    Breaking

England have managed to get their campaign up and running with a 41-18 victory against Italy.

Worth catching the highlights on here shortly for Jonny May's try alone...

  17. 'I expect nothing less than a Wales win'published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

    Robin McBryde
Former Wales forwards coach on S4C

Physical dominance up front will be the key. Wales will be too strong, too experienced. I don't expect anything less than a victory.

Wales will have to be mindful of Scotland's threat and they will need to improve at the line-out but Wales have the ingredients to win.

We saw Finn Russell's defensive weaknesses at Twickenham last weekend - there will be space around him.

  18. No Murrayfield fears for Walespublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

The trip to Edinburgh doesn't hold much trepidation for Wales.

Even when Murrayfield was filled with 67,000 fans, they have come away with the victory more often that not.

In fact, they've only lost once in Edinburgh since 2007 - back in 2017 when Scotland ran out 29-13 winners.

  19. Scotland excited but 'cautious'published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2021

    Scotland v Wales (16:45)

    John Barclay
Former Scotland captain on BBC One

    Quote Message

Last week was huge for Scotland as a rugby team and for the country. That's the impact the sport has on the game in the country here. They will be excited and they will have enough guys in that squad who are cautious and have been stung before, who know how to manage their expectations.
