    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a completely different England side, they are consistent in defence and have bounced back really well. Where has this been for a few months?

No problems for Owen Farrell, who adds another three points to England's tally.

In fact, it is France who concede the first penalty.

They are penalised on the floor and Owen Farrell will have the chance at three points from in front of the posts.

Nick Hughes: I'm in shock, England haven't given away a penalty yet after 10 minutes. Great start to the match, two top tries

    England 7-7 France

Billy Vunipola nabs a turnover and Owen Farrell kicks to touch just over 10m out from the tryline.

England are looking more confident than they have for weeks. All the underdog talk looks to have done them good.

    England 7-7 France

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC 5 Radio Live

Great stuff! Accurate, pacey and using the forwards to carry hard. The little pivot play created the space for Henry Slade to make the bust, and then a fantastic finish from Watson.

    Anthony Watson (Con Farrell)

Perfect way to mark his 50th cap.

That was coming for England, who have had plenty of possession in France's 22 since that opening try.

Henry Slade gets things going as he darts through a gap then barrages his way through French defenders to get within a few metres of the tryline.

An overlap is created for Anthony Watson on the right wing and this time George Ford is charged with sending him the pass. It is pin-perfect and an easy finish.

Owen Farrell's conversion levels the scores. Tasty match already.

Both teams have really come to play, both are really keen to put some width on the ball.

A little groan from the England bench as Max Malins' attempt to whip a pass across his body and into the hands of wing Anthony Watson drifts into touch.

England could have done with a shout of warning instead as France take a quick line-out and break upfield...

    England 0-7 France

England try for a couple of pick and gos but it gets them nowhere.

So Ben Youngs goes to the right. Max Malins thinks he spots some space for Anthony Watson, but his pass is nowhere near. Might be a sign of nerves from the full-back, who is making his first start in place of Elliot Daly.

    England 0-7 France

A 5m scrum for England gives us a bit of reprieve after a mad start. It collapses once, but the second one is good and England go left.

Both teams are really throwing the kitchen sink at the opposition!

Luke Cowan-Dickie bundles England up to within a couple of metres, then Billy Vunipola is almost over.

There is a dive over the line from Mark Wilson, but the ball is held up by Gael Fickou. Good response from England.

As Theo and Mark suggest, the pressure is on England for a performance here.

They are a far cry from the side that reached the 2019 World Cup final.

The hosts have made it into France's 22 though, so that's good news.

Theo: Eddie Jones has taken this England side as far as he can... time for a rethink

Mark Burt: My expectations of this dull and mechanical England have rarely been lower. Keeping France to under 35 points and penalty count below 10 would be a win at the moment.

The little magician is already weaving his magic. Antoine Dupont had already looked dangerous, looping and lurking, before he swooped on that Teddy Thomas kick ahead to score...

    Antoine Dupont (Con Jalibert)

    Oh dear.

Not the most enjoyable way for Max Malins to kick off his first England start. Wing Teddy Thomas chips over the top of the Bristol man and of course, of course it is superstar-best-player-in-the-world Antoine Dupont who is first to react.

The scrum-half gathers and bangs down France's first try in 81 seconds.

Matthieu Jalibert has no problems with the conversion.

    England 0-0 France

Ben Youngs isn't afraid of the Twickenham wind. He sends what is sure to be the first of many box-kicks into the air and France launch an attack inside England's half.

The visitors whip the ball left and the returning Virimi Vakatawa is contained by Henry Slade.
