    England 0-0 France

And we're off. Matthieu Jalibert bangs the ball into the air as France look to get their Grand Slam bid going again after a month off.

England, who are hoping to avoid a third Six Nations defeat this year, gather inside their 22.

The French flag is whipped about at the top of what looks like a blustery Twickenham.

As per usual in these days of no crowds, we can hear the players' sometimes out of tune rendition of the Marseillaise with perfect clarity.

Luckily for England, a singer in the stands covers up their efforts. Shame, because Maro Itoje looked like he was belting it out.

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

The players cover pretty much the length of pitch as they line up socially distanced for a minute's silence to mark Rugby Against Racism.

Some England players kneel, France stay standing. Now for the anthems.

Anthony Watson trots out at the front of the England line to mark his winning of his 50th cap.

There is a bit of pyro to greet him, but he looks a little sheepish as he sidesteps around an empty stadium.

England are in the tunnel waiting for their opponents to appear.

France eventually arrive and jog out to little fanfare in the empty Twickenham.

England follow suit, with Anthony Watson leading the way on the day of his 50th cap.

Time for a quick reminder of who is who in this one.

Max Malins just threw a nice dummy and darted in for a score in the soft-touch game that England starters are playing against the replacements at the end of their warm-up.

Will the Bristol playmaker be able to show similar star-dusted touches when the real action gets under way?

And what will Elliot Daly make of riding the pine? It is the first time since 2016 the Saracens full-back has found himself out of the England starting line-up.

  12. France's game-changing nine with the world at his feetpublished at 16:32 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

Matt Dawson isn't the only one with something to say about the star-power of scrum-half Antoine Dupont.

All Blacks legend Aaron Smith is a fan too and even opposite number Ben Youngs couldn't speak highly enough of the 24-year-old.

We explored the hype around Dupont - including that coming from his brother and the mayor of his village. Have a read here if you want to know more.

Antoine Dupont is walking away with World Player of the Year at the moment.

How he impresses me, more than his distribution, eye of a gap and support lines - he has an ability to play quiet.

He seemed to be quiet against Ireland, but he knew he had to direct, communicate, spread the ball and do all the things that don’t show up on the stats. And he did them all superbly.

  14. Wales keep pressure on Francepublished at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

Over in Rome, Wales have claimed a convincing 48-7 victory against Italy to keep their Grand Slam bid on track.

If France win today, it's going to be a mouth-watering match-up between the two sides next weekend. Although France still have one more game to play against Scotland.

  15. How do you beat France?published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

It's the big question on England fans' lips. Mike Henson caught up with the side's former defence coach David Ellis to find out how to beat France. Read the full thing here, but the main takeaways are:

    • Win the whistle war
    • Target midfield
    • Somehow find a way to contain Antoine Dupont
    • Kick with caution
    • Finish well in the front five

    Easy peasy.

World Cup 2023 is round the corner. When I was involved in the World Cup team in 2015, we just wanted to get to the quarters and see what happens.

This team could aim for more. But they know that they need to test themselves against the superpowers and there is no bigger scalp in Europe than England.

  17. Last timepublished at 16:21 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

The last time these two sides met was in the Autumn Nations Cup final and it was quite an afternoon.

France essentially had to field a second team because so many of their players were unavailable due to an agreement with the Top 14.

Nevertheless, they pushed England to the edge. Owen Farrell had to land a sudden-death penalty to claim victory in the end.

Here's hoping for equal excitement levels today.

  18. 'England are underdogs'published at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

England are not favourites. They are underdogs.

They are going to be sick of everything and they have a bit of young blood to spark things.

Eddie Jones’ selection shows that there is a bit of competition hotting up here.

There will be a few players thinking, 'If I don’t pull my finger out then I won’t be going to the World Cup in 2023'.

  19. All eyes on Farrellpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

Two of the major talking points in England's campaign so far: Owen Farrell and penalties.

The side conceded 41 across the first three rounds and that sort of indiscipline will be sorely punished by France.

Farrell said he "doesn't dwell" on his difficult Six Nations so far, with some questioning his captaincy and the Saracens back struggling for form.

Last weekend, Jones said Farrell was "still learning to be a good captain".

  20. 'Vakatawa back to his best'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2021

    England v France (16:45 GMT)

    Benjamin Kayser
Former France hooker on BBC Radio 5 Live

What I love about this French side is the fact that Romain Ntamack coming back is barely a footnote.

Virimi Vakatawa is back and back in form. He played for Racing 92 against Toulon last weekend and he was back to his best, creating things with a step, a bump or a crazy offload.
