If you wanted a first touch to settle the nerves.

Stormers kick off and send the ball straight down the throat of Marcus Smith.

The fly-half collects the ball and has loads of time to pump the ball 50m into the stands.

    That will do nicely.

Hamish Watson has been given the nod at number seven today, and it appears to be a toss up between the Scotsman and England's Tom Curry for the Test berth.

The numbers on the tour so far are around even, although Watson has chucked the ball up his jumper and pumped the legs slightly more.

Keep an eye on the battle at the breakdown today...

  9. 'A game within a game'published at 16:42 British Summer Time 17 July 2021

Stormers v British and Irish Lions (17:00 BST)

Speaking to Sky Sports about Alun Wyn Jones' return to the bench, Lions head coach Warren Gatland said: "It is important for him as an incredibly competitive person, so we want to give him some reasonable game time in the second half.

"Then he comes into contention for next week, whether as a starter or off the bench. We haven't made up our mind yet, it's just about seeing how he is."

On South Africa head coach Rassie Erasmus' comments on Twitter: "I was a bit surprised about going to Twitter, but you just have to accept things. I have gone to the channels and asked the referees and they thing it was a yellow and we accept that.

"There were a couple other shots that were missed and we asked about those, but it all adds to the fun. It's a game within a game sometimes."

Will we see much of this man today?

Captain Alun Wyn Jones has recovered from a dislocated shoulder and arrived back on the Lions tour after coming through two training sessions with Wales.

But Warren Gatland says that the 35-year-old will have to prove himself on the pitch if he is to continue his run of having played in the last nine Lions tests - a streak that stretches across three tours and 12 years.

"We have had that conversation," said Gatland, who reviewed footage of Jones' training session with Wales.

"He has travelled today, but if he is in contention for next week he needs to have a run.

"If someone comes off he is ready to go. We wouldn't have brought him out unless he was 100% fit."

Ireland centre Robbie Henshaw returns from injury and Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones is named on the bench for the British and Irish Lions' final match before the series against South Africa.

Fly-half Marcus Smith also starts at 10 against the Stormers on Saturday after only being called up at the weekend.

Second row Jones is set to return to action just three weeks after dislocating his shoulder against Japan.

He returned home but trained with Wales before heading back to South Africa.

Scotland's Stuart Hogg returns after a period of self-isolation following an outbreak of Covid in the tourists' camp to lead the side from full-back.

Stormers v British and Irish Lions (17:00 BST)

After what feels like years of discussions, we are only five days away from learning who will be in the British and Irish Lions Test side to take on South Africa.

Warren Gatland's side face the Stormers in their final warm-up game on Saturday and the New Zealander says his Test team is "60-70%" fluid going into the game.

Attack coach Gregor Townsend echoed those sentiments, adding it is "the last chance for players to put their hands up" before the team for next Saturday's first Test is named on Thursday.

So who has it all to play for against the Stormers? Read more here.
