The game is in danger of getting out of control. It's 17:50 (BST) and we’ve not even played 30 minutes of match time.

Is this what happens when officials feel under extreme pressure to not make a single mistake?

    One for the cameras.

The ball flies through the Lions' hands quickly as green jerseys fly up in defence.

But the move breaks down when Stuart Hogg is tackled and the Springboks win the penalty.

Ben O’Keeffe has been as busy as the players this half. He has been tested by the players.

Two yellow cards for Van de Merwe and Kolbe. O’Keeffe's temperament and communication throughout has been clam and clear. It's not a classic, but still has the tension and feel of a huge game.

    Now then.

Handre Pollard smashes the ball high and Conor Murray is taken out in the air by Cheslin Kolbe.

Both sets of players fly in and passions are high.

The South Africa winger does not take his eyes off the ball but Murray lands awkwardly after the coming together.

Have Rassie Erasmus' words had the desired effect?

The Lions are on their feet in the ruck and contesting the ball, but the penalty goes South Africa's way.

It looked like a fair attempt to win the ball and the Lions can count themselves unlucky.

But ominously, the Boks have already got the ball into Cheslin Kolbe’s hands on a few occasions. More already than last week.
