  1. Penalty - England 12-3 Scotlandpublished at 24 mins

    Helen Nelson

Scotland fly-half Helen Nelson steps up and slaps over the penalty to make an impression on Scotland's side of the scoreboard.

  2. Postpublished at 21 mins

    England 12-0 Scotland

Scotland asking some questions for the first time. Scrum-half Mairi McDonald darts round the fringes, all whizz and zip.

England infringe as they try and stem the bleeding.

And Scotland call for the tee...

  3. 'Relentless England pressure'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    Natasha Hunt
World Cup-winning England scrum-half on BBC iPlayer

It's relentless pressure from England. They are coming in waves and waves and Scotland are struggling to stop them.

Try - England 12-0 Scotlandpublished at 17 mins

    Leanne Riley

    Pressure pays.

Leanne Riley with some Saturday Night Fever footwork five out to pick her way through a crowd scene and dot down.

Riley is a bit winded in scoring, but picks herself up to take the plaudits.

Emily Scarratt's conversion bounces off the woodwork and...wide.

    England 7-0 Scotland

England join the dots, but can't quite make the final connection to exploit a one-player overlap.

Jess Breach chucks one at opposite wing Lydia Thompson's bootlaces. To ground. Line-out blue.

  6. Postpublished at 15 mins

    England 7-0 Scotland

Scrum 15 out, white put-in. Scotland soaking up pressure admirably, but I don't think they have been into England's half yet, never mind the 22m.

  7. Postpublished at 13 mins

    England 7-0 Scotland

England making inroads again. Emily Scarratt's with the delicate hands of a brain surgeon, Zoe Aldcroft thundering into contact like a pinball wizard.

    Becky Grey

What better way to mark a return to international rugby after a turbulent two years of injuries than combining with your twin sister to set up your side's opening try. Great day to be Bryony Cleall.

  9. 'Brilliant finish'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    Natasha Hunt
World Cup-winning England scrum-half on BBC iPlayer

Packer is so good at that, she's such an opportunistic player and no-one will stop her from that distance. It was a brilliant finish.

  10. try

Converted try - England 7-0 Scotlandpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    Marlie Packer (con Scarratt)

    TRY STANDS!

It was a peach as well. Poppy Cleall to sister Bryony. Another offload. Zoe Aldcroft up to within three metres and then Marlie Packer sniffs the whitewash and ilunges over from short range.

    Extras from ever-reliable Emily Scarratt.

  11. Try reviewpublished at 8 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

What a try that might be!

Marlie Packer goes over at the end of a rat-a-tat swip-swap of passes among the England forwards.

A sublime offload in there from Poppy Cleall.

  12. Postpublished at 8 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Jess Breach singes the Castle Park turf with a lovely jinking run. Eventually she is snaffled by the Scotland defence as she attempts to find fresh air on the inside.

But England are deep in Scotland territory...

  13. Postpublished at 7 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Scotland's set-piece just about manages to hang in there under the sort of pressure you are more used to seeing on the surface of Venus.

Leanne Riley charges down a clearing kick, but an England forward - I think Byrony Cleall - is pinged for a double movement on the floor.

  14. Postpublished at 5 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Scotland captain Rachel Malcolm is down getting a bit of strapping on a knee knock.

The skipper is good to go. Scrum 30m from the visitors line, Scotland put-in.

  15. Nervous startspublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    England 0-0 Scotland

    Becky Grey
    BBC Sport at Castle Park

A nervy start from returning full-back Sarah McKenna and fly-half Helena Rowland as they both put too much on their cross-field kicks to Lydia Thompson.

McKenna has kept the always impressive Ellie Kildunne on the bench so she will be looking to take her chances and Rowland is looking to prove she can fill the big boots of the retired Katy Daley-Mclean.

  16. Postpublished at 4 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Scotland's defence holds firm as England try to rev the rolling maul.

No way through the logjam for the visitors.

So Helena Rowland opts for another bomb towards the wide spaces. Again, there is a little too much sauce off the instep, the ball bounding away from Lydia Thompson as she tries to pounce.

  17. Postpublished at 3 mins

    England 0-0 Scotland

Helena Rowland has the penalty advantage in her back pocket. The fly-half cashes it in with a cross-field kick that has a little too much heat on it for wing Lydia Thompson to take.

Back for the Scotland offside. Massive early pressure...

  18. Postpublished at 1 min

    England 0-0 Scotland

A heavy-duty carry by England number eight Poppy Cleall. Then it goes wide. No hole in the Scotland defence.

But another massive rumble by Poppy Cleall!

    England up to within 10!

    England v Scotland (15:00 BST)

Helena Rowlands drop-out is safely reeled in by the Scotland forwards and we are up and running...

  20. Kick-off nextpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 3 April 2021

    England v Scotland (15:00 BST)

Scotland's players are big on volume, maybe not so hot on harmony.

England trundle into God Save the Queen. A less taxing tune this one. A solid effort.

Right, trackies off and Emily Scarratt huddles up the Red Roses.

    Kick-off incoming...
