I don't think they got their timing right and then Camille Chat came through, if anyone deserves a try he's the one.

    Try - Racing 92 10-3 Edinburghpublished at 25 mins

    Camille Chat

The outstanding French hooker Chat batters over to end Edinburgh's resistance.

The visitors were their own worst enemy there as they lost a defensive lineout, and the pressure finally tells.

Maxime Machenaud adds the extras from in front of the sticks.

    Racing 92 3-3 Edinburgh

The second of the terrific back-row duo Jamie Ritchie rescues Edinburgh superbly this time as he poaches in at the ruck as Racing menaced on the try-line.

    Great defence.

  4. Missed penaltypublished at 21 mins

    Racing 92 3-3 Edinburgh

Maxime Machenaud misses his second attempt at goal. It was a tough one, to be fair. 37 metres out and in the right-hand 10m channel.

It clipped the post and fell short, and Edinburgh now have a scrum in their own half.

If Camille Chat never makes it as a hooker he has a career as twelve, a thirteen, a winger or a cannonball. He has been an absolutely outstanding carrier.

    Racing 92 3-3 Edinburgh

Good stuff from Edinburgh after a scrappy kick-off has them under pressure.

Bill Mata breaks through, and after a couple of offloads Henry Pyrgos dinks Edinburgh up the pitch.

Racing respond at a furious speed with Camille Chat breaking about 72 tackles, before Antoine Gibert stabs a grubber through to pin Edinburgh into their own half.

It's interesting that Racing are jumping back down the short side, as much as possible, they don't seem to be going two or three phases the same way across the field. Probably out of respect of how quick the Edinburgh defence can come up. Edinburgh's defence is well organised.

  8. Penalty - Racing 92 3-3 Edinburghpublished at 15 mins

    Blair Kinghorn

An easy settler in front of the sticks for Blair Kingorn, who levels things up.

More encouraging from Edinburgh on the back of that penalty.

Edinburgh get the penalty at the breakdown. Any guesses as to who was firmly clamped around the ball?

Clue: He has a wild mane on his head and wears the number seven for Edinburgh.

It was frighteningly quick ball, there from Racing. A crucial intervention from Hamish Watson.

Jordan Joseph has welcomed Blair Kinghorn to the number-10 channel with a thumping hit.

Racing have the scrum in their own half. After Edinburgh went close to scoring two tries in the opening two minutes, the hosts' power has been evident.

    Maxime Machenaud

The opening points are Racing's despite a strong start from Edinburgh.

Machenaud slots a penalty after Edinburgh lose their discipline.

Classic sealing off from the big number 7 [Baptiste Chouzenoux], you see the pace that Racing want to hit onto the ball. Good defence from Edinburgh.

    Racing 92 0-0 Edinburgh

Two big moments already in this game from Edinburgh, but neither have ended in points.

Under some pressure up the other end, Racing are pinged for sealing off as they build pressure on the try-line.

    Ach, that's such a shame.

Jamie Ritchie has fumbled the ball at the back of a maul, and it hits an Edinburgh player before he regathers.

From there, Blair Kinghorn puts James Johnstone careering through a gap and he sprints in under the posts.

It's been ruled out, though, for that knock-on by Ritchie.

    Racing 92 0-0 Edinburgh

A great start from Edinburgh as they pinch the restart, and go on the attack.

They work it to the left wing brilliantly, where Duhan van der Merwe has the chance to put Damian Hoyland sprinting down the touchline, but his pass goes into touch.

That's a big missed opportunity for Edinburgh in the first minute.

I think all the best fullbacks should be able to slot in at ten. It's great he can do it and he definitely has the skill set. Get him in, why not.

  18. Kinghorn at 10 a 'calculated risk'published at 12:26 British Summer Time 4 April 2021

    Racing 92 v Edinburgh (12:30)

Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill has been telling BBC Scotland about his decision to play Blair Kinghorn at fly-half instead of full-back.

"He's got talent," he said. "We've been a bit short at 10 this season. Jaco's [van der Walt] not been able to get much rhythm into his game.

"Blair's just played well. He did well at Cardiff in a cameo at 10 and had a good 60 minutes at Dragons with Jaco's injury.

"It's a risk, but a calculated one. It's an exciting backline and a bold call from myself but I think he's more than capable of doing it."

Racing 92 are currently third in the French Top 14, and have managed to reach the last eight of the Champions Cup in the last four seasons, and reached the final last term.

Their line-up looks formidable, with Virimi Vakatawa, Kurtley Beale and Teddy Thomas just a few of the names in the back line that Edinburgh will have to contain.

And that's without even mentioning their hefty forward pack...
