Lions centre Jonathan Davies has been left out of the matchday squad.

He captained Wales against South Africa, but there was no place for him against Fiji and again today against Australia.

Wayne Pivac says the 33-year-old remains a significant figure off the field, but that they have to put the team first.

It's a bitter pill to swallow for Davies as he's due to win his 100th Test cap having amassed 93 for Wales and 6 for the Lions.

But Pivac says don't bet against Davies as he's "desperate" to play at the 2023 World Cup.

Australia will be without their talismanic captain Michael Hooper.

The 2021 World Rugby player of the year nominee suffered a foot injury in Saturday's defeat against England.

He's replaced by Pete Samu at open-side flanker, with prop James Slipper taking over the armband.

Tighthead props Taniela Tupou and Allan Alaalatoa have both made full recoveries, with Tupou starting alongside hooker Tolu Latu - who made his Test return last weekend.

Reds winger Filipo Daugunu is the final change to the starting XV, earning his first Wallabies jersey since breaking his arm in the series decider against France back in July.

Australia: Beale; Kellaway, Ikitau, Paisami, Daugunu; O'Connor, White; Slipper (capt), Latu, Tupou, Arnold, Rodda, Leota, Samu, Valetini.

Replacements: Fainga'a, Bell, Alaalatoa, Skelton, Swinton, McDermott, Foketi, Wright.

Josh Adams had been due to start in the centre against Fiji, but was forced with withdraw during the warm-up with a calf strain.

He's come through a late fitness test to take up his usual place on the wing, as has prop Tomas Francis who was ruled out on matchday with concussion.

Wyn Jones also returns to the front row after being told he needed to work on his fitness.

Aaron Wainwright has recovered from a shoulder problem to take up his place at number eight.

Seb Davies starts at lock in place of the injured Will Rowlands, while Tomos Williams is preferred to Kieran Hardy at scrum-half.

Willis Halaholo joins Nick Tompkins in the midfield, while Lions centre Jonathan Davies is left out of the squad.

Pivac says it's for tactical reasons, but it's still raised a few eyebrows.

Wales: L Williams; Rees-Zammit, Tompkins, Halaholo, Adams; Biggar, T Williams; W Jones, Elias, Francis, Beard, S Davies, Jenkins (capt), Basham, Wainwright.

Replacements: Dee, G Thomas, Lewis, Carter, Tshiunza, G Davies, Priestland, McNicholl.

Hello and welcome to Wales' autumn series finale.

    Australia are in town.

The Wallabies are wounded after defeats to Scotland and England, the players have looked tired as their season nears its end.

But they'll be looking to go out with a bang tonight.

Wales are aiming to back up last weekend's 38-23 victory over Fiji having previously lost to South Africa and New Zealand.

But they'll also be wanting a performance, having stuttered to that win against 14-men.

Wales won the last meeting against Australia, a 9-6 win in Cardiff in November 2018, but this one is hard to call.

There's no clear favourite, although Wales' home advantage sees them slightly edge it with the bookies.

Keep it here as we build up to kick-off, starting with a look at the teams.
