    Wales 6-0 Scotland

    Sam Warburton
Former Wales captain on BBC One

I always thought this weekend Wales would come out with a reaction.

It seems from the evidence of the first few minutes, that is the case - players stepping up and carrying physically.

    Wales 6-0 Scotland

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio Scotland

It's the little things - Ali Price gets bundled off the ball, which gives Wales momentum.

You can't give away kickable penalties like the ones Scotland have so far.

  3. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Wales 6-0 Scotland

We've just seen our first glimpse of the speed and power of Duhan van der Merwe as he goes tearing down the wing.

Nice play off the middle scrum there. Great fend from Dan Biggar on Ali Price.

It's a real good positive boost for the Welsh pack.

Wales double their advantage after Scotland concede a penalty at the breakdown.

Scotland need to improve their discipline.

    Wales 3-0 Scotland

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland scrum-half on BBC One

It's been an incredible start. Scotland with all the possession deep inside the Welsh half but they couldn't get the killer pass.

Then they go down the other end concede the first penalty.

  7. 'A penalty and a yellow'published at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales 3-0 Scotland

    Nigel Owens
Former World Cup final referee on BBC One

To me Stuart Hogg knows exactly what he is doing there. To me that's a penalty and a yellow card.

    Wales 3-0 Scotland

The ball sails through and Wales have the first points on the board.

  9. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Advantage Wales.

Scotland are penalised for collapsing the scrum and Dan Biggar lines up a shot at posts.

  10. Postpublished at 3 mins

Owen Watkin getting plenty of the ball early on. Scotland go through 12 phases but Wales win a turnover and Watkin makes a clean break from inside his own half to send the crowd wild.

Scotland concede the scrum, it will be a first look at the two packs.

  11. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Wales 0-0 Scotland

Owen Watkin takes the high ball safely and Wales clear their lines, as the rain begins to fall inside the Principality.

An early break from Matt Fagerson shows Scotland's attacking intent.

  12. Kick-offpublished at 1 min

    Wales 0-0 Scotland

    Here we go...

Today's referee Nic Berry from Australia blows his whistle and Finn Russell gets us under way.

If the ref's name sounds familiar, he was the one that took charge of the first Lions Test against South Africa, which led to the now famous "Rassie Rant".

  13. 'Must-win for Wales'published at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15 GMT)

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales international on BBC One

Today is a pressure game. They have got England and France coming up - this is a must-win game for Wales.

They have got to front up. They have to win the collisions, they have to get the scrum sorted - get the basics right to lay a platform for them to perform.

If that doesn't happen, they are going to struggle.

  14. Scotland 'need to neutralise crowd'published at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15)

    Tom English
    BBC Scotland's chief sports writer

The key is the first 15 minutes. If the crowd gets engaged in this game off the back of a strong Welsh start, then Scotland could be in trouble.

If Scotland can quieten the Welsh ire from last week, if they can neutralise the crowd, it will make their job much easier.

  15. Basham 'the real deal' for Walespublished at 14:12 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15 GMT)

    Sam Warburton
Former Wales captain on BBC One

For Welsh fans, Taine Basham has come on the scene since the autumn series. He was brilliant last weekend.

He has been there or thereabouts as one of Wales' best sevens for the last three years but there is so much competition there.

He has an all-court game, he is abrasive in his carry, he hits well in defence, he can win ball on the floor, he has great hands.

He is a guy who could be in this Welsh team for the next 10, 12 years.

We have got a real poster boy potentially. I don't want to put too much pressure on him, but he is the real deal.

  16. Time for the anthems...published at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15 GMT)

I don't think many people would argue that these are two of the best anthems in the world.

Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau will follow Flower of Scotland.

  17. 'Psychological edge' for Walespublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15 GMT)

    Tom Shanklin
Former Wales international on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Wales will have a psychological edge over Scotland from past results.

There'll be a massive reaction from last week's poor performance.

Wales cannot play that bad again. They're at home and in front of a packed crowd and if they can't get up for this game, there's no point playing the game.

The crowd has just given a huge round of applause for the charity cyclists who have arrived from Murrayfield, led by former Sctland skipper Rob Wainwright.

The group, which included ex-Wales internationals Alix Popham, Colin Charvis, Ian Gough and Tony Copsey, have been raising money for the Doddie Weir Foundation.

They've covered 515 miles in just 48 hours.

I just bumped into Goughy in the press room, he's walking a bit gingerly!

  19. Russell 'taken his game to next level'published at 14:06 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15 GMT)

    John Barclay
Former Scotland captain on BBC One

Finn Russell's rugby IQ has evolved, as it does the longer you are in that position.

He has got the reins of that team and he drives it forward. His maturity doesn't really surprise me.

His game management, making the right call in a bit of adversity, is what's really taken his game to that next level.

  20. Biggar's pride at reaching landmarkpublished at 14:04 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2022

    Wales v Scotland (14:15 GMT)

Dan BiggarImage source, Huw Evans Picture Agency

Wales captain Dan Biggar says he feels "pride" at reaching rugby's exclusive 100-cap club, but also a bit of vindication" as there have been highs and lows along the way.

"I'm glad to have been able to stick it out and keep a career going for quite a while," he said.

"I guess it's every boy's dream to play for Wales and I am privileged to be able to lead the lads out.

"All the family are coming so I'm just excited. My little boy is coming but I think he'll probably be on the iPhone watching Paw Patrol and not much else."
