Wales were on the ropes, they will probably take conceding the three points after the phase after phase torture both sides are going through.

    Gareth Griffiths

Wales will be frustrated by that display in the first half after they struggled to impose their attacking game and have once more been punished for indiscipline.

Positives include the direct attacking running of a revitalised Alex Cuthbert and the industrious work of Taulupe Faletau on his international return.

Wales can't afford to concede the first score of the second half.

I think France may have enjoyed that first half most.

Fabien Galthie's side are hunting a first Grand Slam since 2010. Neither Wales, who they play in the next round, or England, who travel to Paris in the final weekend of fixtures, will be favourites to rain on their procession towards a clean sweep.

By the way, a nice moment as England trotted down the tunnel. Ben Youngs got hold of Harry Randall and gave him a congratulatory hug on his lively first-half performance.

At some stage Wales have to try to get some territory, get some possession in England's half, get some points on the board, otherwise this game will slip away from them.

    HT: England 12-0 Wales

It's been a thrilling Six Nations so far and that 40 minutes didn't exactly keep up with the standard.

England have dominated possession and Wales have struggled with their discipline, giving the hosts a solid lead at half-time.

  9. Penalty - England 12-0 Walespublished at 17:37 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Marcus Smith

England go for goal again and have a comfortable 12-point cushion at half-time.

Alex Dombrandt has a go. He cuts the distance to 2m, but Mike Adamson spots Ross Moriarty lying on the ball and awards a penalty to England.

    Harry Randall nips through!

    Ten metres to go now.

  12. Postpublished at 40 mins

    England 9-0 Wales

After an awful lot of kicking back and forth, Courtney Lawes opts to pile into Wales' defence.

Marcus Smith tries a more delicate route, but England don't make much headway into Wales' half. England are playing with advantage at least.

Smith finally finds a way through and helps Max Malins make a bit of ground. Within touching distance of the 22 now.

Wyn Jones sacks it straight away, gets the ball on the floor, enables Faletau to get his hands on the ball. What a sack from Wyn Jones.

Ellis Genge's face falls in disappointment as Mike Adamson's hand leaps into the sky, giving Wales a penalty with England metres from the tryline.

Someone needs to treat this crowd to a try.

Much as I hate to criticise the referee - I don't think he's helping with the flow ( or lack of )- doesn't seem to have any feel for the game .

    England 9-0 Wales

Marcus Smith nails a 50:22 kick, kicking the ball from his own half and bouncing it in Wales' 22 before it goes into touch, meaning England get a perfectly-placed line-out on the 5m line.

Swing Low rings out at Twickenham.

The latest England penalty came from another excellent box kick from Harry Randall.

Wales are doing a lot of hard work in attack for not a lot of gain at the moment.

Nick Tompkins try for a kick through, but Freddie Steward is good for it.

He grabs the ball, pirouettes and boots it waaaaaay back down the field.

I like the tactics Wales are trying, trying to manipulate England and get them out of position.
