What a hit from Dan Biggar!

The Wales captain lines up a beautiful spiral kick from his own 22 which takes Wales into the French 22.

Wales have a line-out in an excellent attacking position.

Wales are just about hanging in there but their defence is really being tested. Dupont is looking so sharp around the breakdown, they can't afford to give him any room.

The French forwards are playing what's in front of them, playing instinctively.

When they get going like that, they are very dangerous.

The Welsh are going to be very happy being only four points behind.

How exactly do you stop Antoine Dupont?

One to ponder for Wales while there's another a break in play.

Wyn Jones is on for Gareth Thomas, who's off for a head injury assessment.

France are such a joy to watch when they get their backs into the game, you can forget what a brutishly physical team they are as well.

Their forwards certainly have upper hand in the collisions so far.

The empty seats that people have been talking about before the game are mainly behind the posts that Wales are attacking in the first half.

There had been talk about less French fans travelling than normal. It certainly does not feel like that in the Principality Stadium.

Kieran Hardy raises a cheer from the home crowd as he safely gathers a steepling French clearance, but he's then bundled into touch to prompt huge roars from the travelling French fans.

    Dan Biggar

A rare foray into French territory as Alex Cuthbert kicks ahead on the right wing, and then it's superb follow-up work from Taulupe Faletau.

Melvyn Jaminet covers for France but he is tackled by Faletau and Wales win a penalty for holding on, right in front of the French posts.

It's a simple kick for Dan Biggar, who reduces the deficit to four points.

There is a worrying pattern here.

France are just kicking it to Wales and saying 'come on then, let's see what you can do'.

    They haven't shown much yet.

France are getting the advantage in every kicking duel.

If this carries on, it could be a long night for Wales.

A French scrum near halfway is rock-solid and again their backs click into gear, with Gabin Villiere scything through the Welsh defence on an arcing run.

Fellow wing Yoram Moefana is tackled before he can make inroads on the right, and he knocks on later in the attack to give Wales a scrum and a welcome breather.

France are such a brilliant team.

We haven't seen the incident again but Tomos Williams made a tackle.

I think he got his head on the wrong side. He was clearly in trouble and he has got to go off.

In the meantime, Wales scrum-half Tomos Williams has gone off for a head injury assessment. He's been replaced by Kieran Hardy.

It was just a matter of patience there from France, work hard off the ball and wait for the mistake from Wales. Probably one of the easier tries Jelonch will ever score.

That try is a reminder for Wales - as if they needed one - that their kicking needs to be on point against this French side.

France's kicking, by contrast, is effective in winning the territory battle. They've got every part of their game covered.

Les Bleus have a lineout 10 metres inside the Welsh half.

That's a fantastic French try but it all started with one bad kick from Wales.

A poor kick, a line break and after that the French are so dangerous with that fast ball.

Converted try - Wales 3-10 Francepublished at 9 mins

    Anthony Jelonch

The second scrum is a bit of a mess, so France tidy things up with a clearing kick, which Dan Biggar responds to with a kick of his own.

Just as it seems both teams seem content trading kicks, France full-back Melvyn Jaminet jets off and frees Gabin Villiere on the left wing.

Villiere makes ground and, although he's stopped, France keep hold of possession and calmly go through the phases.

They work the ball from right to left and flanker Anthony Jelonch canters over in the corner.

    Melvyn Jaminet converts.

This is exactly what Wales want - France to make a couple of early mistakes, get them under pressure and get the Welsh crowd up and at them.

And it's first blood to France, who get the free-kick and opt for another scrum.

This facet of the game is going to be a test for Wales against a powerful French pack.

A knock-on from Gregory Alldritt gives Wales a scrum near the halfway line.

Alldritt is a superb player but the number eight has had a shaky start to this game.

Wales prop Tomas Francis is receiving treatment but looks OK to continue. Here goes the first scrum of the game...
