Thank you for joining us for England's opener, what a cracking start to the Rugby World Cup! England were tested in the first half by Fiji but they weathered the storm to claim a record win to top the pool table.

How many coffees are you on now? I have managed to muscle through without caffeine so far but the kettle will be going on before the next match!

But before I get my coffee just a reminder that after both Pool C matches England are on top of the table on points difference. The Red Roses defeated Fiji and France were victorious over South Africa.

England head coach Simon Middleton said; "I am really happy. We spoke at half-time about one or two changes we had to make. The first half Fiji were absolutely outstanding, they are going to have a great tournament.

"They really rattled us in the first half, we looked nervous and we were."

And when asked how a team can beat his side he said: "I'm not going to answer that question!"

Player of the match has been confirmed as Sadia Kabeya and the flanker told ITV: "To be part of the squad at my first World Cup is great.

"The first half we were a bit all over the place.. the second half showed what we can do and what we are ready to do. We always look forward to playing France."

The win has not only got England's World Cup campaign off to the perfect start but it also has extended their winning run to 26 consecutive games.

England needed this test to set them up for playing France. It was a physical game and they had to work out a physical Fiji team.

Their ball speed, the width in their game and decision-making were top class in the second half.

England captain Sarah Hunter told ITV: "Congratulations to Fiji, that first half they came to play. They rattled us... 14-24 at half-time was a real test for us.

"We were more composed in the second half and went back to being England. The half-time talk was quite controlled actually."

Well England take a ruthless first win in the World Cup but it was far from perfect with Fiji a thorn in their side for the first 40.

A sizzling second half saw the Red Roses claim a record win though.

Fiji are still ploughing on and displaying the skill they showed in the first half, it would be great to see them get points on the board in the second half.

It was a lovely team try, with some lovely handling. They are recycling the ball so quickly and Fiji are chasing shadows.

Claudia still had a bit of work to do but England have found their feet.

The scoreline is making this look like an England show but Fiji's first half heroics can't be forgotten.

For context, England only conceded four tries throughout all of the Six Nations and they've been scored against twice today.

Zoe Harrison kicks upfield as England target another try.

England's driving maul is lethal, they have easily marched 20 metres here! They have the advantage and are called back to it.

Connie Powell's line-out is too long but they recover it. Zoe Harrison pops a long pass to Abby Dow but she is muscled out of play.

A try opportunity goes awry as the last pass can't go through the hands from Holly Aitchison. Claudia MacDonald is receiving treatment for a bloody nose so there is a slight break in play.
