The Red Roses are showing exactly why they have the favourites tag, under the thumb slightly in the first half and now blowing Fiji out the water.
Fiji aren't down and out though as they turn the ball over and clear their lines. They opt for a short line-out but England turn it over at the resulting breakdown. Connie Powell is also on for Amy Cokayne.

Abby Dow had a really nasty leg break. You couldn't be happier for her to come back like that.
There's no way she should score that try, she beats one, beats another and she looks like she has never been away.

That all came from the line-out again sucking in the Fiji defence. It went through the hands and Lydia Thompson is a phenomenal finisher.

Is it deja vu? no just two tries in two minutes! The driving maul is called upon again in the midfield for England and they are streaming forward again. The ball is fizzed wide and Lydia Thompson pounces again. Emily Scarratt kicks wide.
England have made changes with Vickii Cornborough off for Hannah Botterman and Sarah Bern off for Maud Muir.

Wow, wow, wow! Ellie Kildunne pounces on a loose ball and she offloads to Claudia MacDonald but Sesenieli Donu makes a great tackle on the line.
The ball pops out to Lydia Thompson though and she is over for England's seventh.

That is a really well-worked try. I think they've started to work Fiji out. They are stretching them, they are getting the ball to the edges rather than going straight at them. They recycled the ball and it's just a walk-in.

Fiji have made a chnge at hoker with Bitila Tawake coming on for Vika Matarugu.
Sadia Kabeya knocks on and we have a scrum. Fiji come away with it and they will be looking to make an impact on the scoreboard, they win another penalty with England offside. Fiji come again

The England driving maul is a menace, this time in the midfield as they charge.
England have the advantage now as they run through the phases, whatever Simon Middleton said at half-time seems to be working! And Zoe Aldcroft comes through and dots down, they are running through the gears.

An early England kick is charged down but Helena Rowland recovers the ball and gets her side out of trouble.
We are pulled back for an earlier advantage for a tackler not rolling away and Zoe Harrison kicks to the corner. Time is off as a player is receiving treatment but we are soon back underway and England are attacking..

England will probably still take the win here but what a shock to the system. The challenges being presented will be beneficial for their campaign as a whole with their defence most needing improvements.
And this Fiji team could definitely get out of the pool, France will be shaking in their boots looking at this!

England will be a bit disappointed with how they started. They were rusty and Fiji had the momentum. But the driving set-piece scrum and maul is looking more solid and there's a lot of potential for them to grow. I expect them to really take control after 60 minutes.
Well who would have predicted this? What a start to their first World Cup from Fiji, they have rattled the favourites and they must have a feeling they could cause a huge upset!
