They knew there was no way through England's defence, and they then had to kick it through.
That was a lovely kick.
A great try - incredible!
Ayesha Leti-l'iga
HUGE!
New Zealand's pressure pays off and they lead so late on this World Cup final. A kick through is accurate, centre Stacey Fluhler gets there, is tackled but brilliantly hands it off to the supporting Ayesha Leti-liga who scores.
Superb skills.

New Zealand coming in waves. England standing strong...
New Zealand 29-31 England
TEN MINUTES left. That's all that lies between England and a heroic win.
They have won their last 30 Tests but they have been down to 14 players since very early on in this final at a sold-out Eden Park.
England replacement Poppy Cleall is now down and hurt though.
New Zealand 29-31 England
Just a few more of these needed...
New Zealand 29-31 England
Brilliant defending from England's back two but again their kick out is not the best. This could be a battering for the final 10 minutes or so now...
New Zealand 29-31 England
Abby Dow does now come off with England's only other back on the bench, Tatyana Heard, on.
New Zealand 29-31 England
Abby Dow has stayed on. England's numerical disadvantage has been cancelled out for most of the remainder of this game. How big could that be?

To me that is shoulder to head at force, I don't know how that is only a yellow.
I'm baffled by that - she is very lucky.

Abby Dow doesn't look like she can stand up. Get her off and looked at.
New Zealand 29-31 England
Kennedy Simon, the replacement flanker, is shown a yellow card. That leaves both sides with 14, for 10 minutes at least. Abby Dow looks pretty shaken up.
New Zealand 29-31 England
Abby Dow, who scored a phenomenal try for England against Canada, runs it out from deep and is eventually stopped in uncompromising fashion. Again, this is a fairly high challenge.

What is interesting is how England are defending the New Zealand scrum, they are dropping a forward so only packing down with seven as they know how dominant their scrum is.
Poppy Cleall is defending at fly-half to provide their defence some width.
New Zealand 29-31 England
Tired limbs, scrambled heads as England drop the ball in a dangerous position. Another reminder that England wing Lydia Thompson was sent-off in the 18th minute.
England have been a player down ever since. It's a remarkable effort to still be ahead...
New Zealand 29-31 England
A record crowd inside Eden Park, big numbers of you with us on this page. A potentially huge day for women's rugby in a massive year for women's sport.
England could make it even bigger in little over 15 minutes' time...
New Zealand 29-31 England
Another huge roar from the England forwards as they somehow force an infringement. New Zealand had the ball for six or seven phases and were within sight of the tryline. But England get in and referee Hollie Davidson pings the Black Ferns.
Massive defence.
New Zealand 29-31 England
Poor kick from Zoe Harrison, out on the full from inside her 22 so the ball comes all the way back. England nearly steal the line-out but Alex Matthews can't pouch it.

England have got to be smart now.
England have to conserve a bit of energy now by kicking the ball out.
It really saps you if you don't have the ball.
Kick those corners and make New Zealand go from deep.
Will England take hold of this or will New Zealand keep it for another three years?
