It is Zoe Aldcroft who needs treatment, she's being seen to. But she looks OK, up on her feet and walking off unaided. Cath O'Donnell is on in her place while the lock is checked over.

England get to within a few metres but lose the ball - it's knocked on by Zoe Aldcroft. Time is off as an England player needs treatment. We could all do with the breather...

    Wow what a comeback!

It was a flat pass to get outside the defence, fair play to England they tried to stop it but you aren't stopping any of that New Zealand back-three.

The World Cup pressure cooker is taking a toll. Another mistake from the restart, New Zealand coughing the ball up this time.

I am not sure my heart can take this and we are only 25 minutes in!

England have to go back to their territory game and keep New Zealand deep in their half.

Wow this final does not let up! England make a mistake from kick-off, New Zealand look threatening from the line-out again but then flip the ball out wide, sub winger Ayesha Leti-l'iga has all manner of space where Lydia Thompson should be and she finishes.

The conversion from Renee Holmes is immaculate.

What a reaction from the Red Roses. Fatigue will come into play for sure but that was superb.

    Marlie Packer

    Who needs a full 15?!

Incredible reaction from this England pack. Again it comes from a line-out, New Zealand can't deal with a catch and drive once more and flanker Marlie Packer drives over the line for her sixth score of the World Cup.

Emily Scarratt has a tough kick from wide on the right - and hits the post!

Lydia Thompson and Portia Woodman had such a battle in 2017, it's such a shame we're not going to see that but New Zealand have a very good replacement coming on.

What a minute in this final.

England lose a player to a red card and a try instantly follows. Georgia Ponsonby burrows over from the line-out. Renee Holmes gets the two.

But you have to protect the players.

New Zealand have lost the great Portia Woodman too, she leaves the field injured after that collision. It was a head-to-head impact.

    WOW.

Well that is game-changing. England wing Lydia Thompson has been sent-off for a reckless tackle. England will have to face New Zealand for an hour with 14 players...

England's defence really stretched for the first time as New Zealand have players over on the right. Brilliant from the Red Roses though as they somehow win the ball back from under their own posts.

    Marlie Packer, salute.

England don't panic like other teams when they get told to use it once by the referee. They really get that maul moving.

Amy Cokayne timed that brilliantly off the back to score.

I'm sitting behind the England friends and family. One of the dads was up looking as if he wanted to get in on the maul himself and heave it over the line. No need in the end.
