Seeing Eden Park full feels pretty surreal.

New Zealand wing Ruby Tui talked during the week about how she remembers as recently as 2010 no-one knew who the Black Ferns were. They seem to know now.

It feels like a historic day for women's rugby - and women's sport as a whole.

Meet Megan, Sophie and Emily. They're friends, for now... we'll see how things are post-match given they're supporting opposing team.

Megan, on the left, is South African but is donning England colours to support her English partner Emily, on the right.

Sophie is caught in the middle with a homemade sign badmouthing England's pace. Emily did try to cover up Ruby Tui's face for the photo but didn't quite manage it.

As well as signs, they've come with faces. Intriguingly one of their favourite people on the field today is Scottish referee Hollie Davidson - Sophie is hoping for an autograph.

England coach Simon Middleton on ITV: "Everyone is excited, we hope it's a great game but we are focused on the job in hand. The mood in the camp has been brilliant all week, they have worked so hard.

"We want to enjoy it but obviously we want to win. The whole team has changed since the last final in 2017. We are ready to go.

"We knew all week that Lucy Packer would play. Everyone has to be 100% to play in a World Cup final."

It is absolutely amazing. I had goosebumps as I came in.

The thought of going out and playing in front of this crowd or watching it, to be involved in it has just a different feel to it.

It is really exciting and genuinely so amazing for this event, final and women's sport in general.

Morning! Took my 7-year-old daughter to Twickenham last weekend for her first visit. Last night she was asking me why the men aren't as good as the women at rugby. She's been inspired and up early to watch the red roses. She's never loved sport but this year the success of women's teams has really inspired her. Fingers crossed for another victory.

Being in a World Cup final obviously means everything - winning it would too, of course.

But this final and a possible trophy go beyond rugby for me. Two of the world's best teams will give absolutely everything they have in front of a packed crowd for 80 minutes and people will see just how exciting women's rugby can be.

Obviously, I hope England win. Not just for myself and my team-mates, but to show that investing in women works.

We have had full-time contracts for our XVs side since 2019, investing more in the women's game than any other union.

Winning the World Cup would show the power that can have and, I hope, encourage others to follow us.

Sarah Hunter - England want to play without fear in the World Cup final

For weeks England head coach Simon Middleton and captain Sarah Hunter have tried to hide what they really came to New Zealand for - but it is obvious.

They came for revenge, served as cold as possible.

The Black Ferns snatched the World Cup from England in 2017 and, when it was announced in 2018 that New Zealand would host the next tournament, Middleton and Hunter nailed down their goal.

They came to take the title of world champions back from the Black Ferns on their own turf.

This morning they face New Zealand in the final at a sold-out Eden Park in Auckland. Things could not have worked out better.

Before this World Cup, no-one had ever paid to watch the Black Ferns play rugby.

Now, Black Ferns fever has well and truly swept through New Zealand.

Eden Park is sold out today. A million people - that's a fifth of the country's population - watched the Black Ferns' semi-final on the TV and New Zealanders have been rearranging their Saturday night plans to make sure they can catch this one.

At my local bus stop in Auckland, The Black Ferns had taken out an ad to say thanks.

Canada were excellent against England last weekend but may have emptied the tank after they were soundly beaten by France in the third-placed play-off a little earlier on.

It's always dubbed the game nobody wants to play in - and Canada can probably confirm that right now.
