Jones is not the only late addition featuring for the Lions today.

England fly-half Marcus Smith starts at 10 against the Stormers after only being called up at the weekend.

Two Welshmen start: lock Adam Beard and wing Josh Adams.

British and Irish Lions: Hogg (capt); Adams, Daly, Henshaw, Van der Merwe; Smith, Price, Sutherland, Cowan-Dickie, Furlong, Beard, Hill, Beirne, H Watson, Conan

Replacements: George, Vunipola, Fagerson, AW Jones, Simmonds, Davies, Harris, Rees-Zammit

    Wales v Argentina (15:00 BST)

After this match is done, the British and Irish Lions face the Stormers in Cape Town for a final warm-up match before the Test series against South Africa.

Staggeringly, Alun Wyn Jones is on the Lions' bench just three weeks after he dislocated his shoulder playing against Japan. Preposterous.

The only people who don't seem surprised by the Wales captain's recovery are his team-mates and coaches, Wayne Pivac included.

  4. The 'huge challenge' facing experimental Walespublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 17 July 2021

    Wales v Argentina (15:00 BST)

As for Wales head coach Wayne Pivac, the purposes of these Tests against Argentina - and the win over Canada earlier this month - is to build strength in depth.

Wales are without 27 players due to injuries and British and Irish Lions call-ups, so these matches are an opportunity to expand their talent pool with an eye on the 2023 World Cup.

"The summer has been a worthwhile exercise and what we want to do as a group is sign off with a very good performance against a good tier-one nation," said Pivac.

"It's a huge challenge when you go through the player list of who is unavailable.

"When you've got five of the back three, four second rows, and three 10s missing, a whole forward pack gone and one guy who started the last Six Nations game in France, it's a tremendous opportunity.

"We're learning so much and it's been a success regardless from my point of view, but clearly we're rugby people. There is a match to be played and we want to win."

Argentina led for much of last Saturday's match despite playing with 14 men for 50 minutes following the red card to Juan Cruz Mallia.

Pumas head coach Mario Ledesma has high standards, though, and he expects an improvement from his side today.

"I was disappointed with the first match result but at the same time it was an awesome effort with 14 men for a long time," said the former Argentina hooker.

"As a result it was not that bad and we have been working to this next game. Since we started the tour we have been saying that every day is important, because of this issue of being apart for so long.

"I think we have got better and we will surely see a better game this weekend."

I bet Jonathan Davies wishes he could be playing in his vest.

If you had arms like that, you'd probably wear a vest in December.

Ready for round two of Wales against Argentina? Good. You've come to the right place.

After drawing 20-20 at the Principality Stadium a week ago, the two sides meet again today for the second and final instalment of their two-Test series.

Building for the future is Wales' aim, and victory against a strong Argentina would be a fine achievement for Wayne Pivac's young side.

Without further ado, let's get to it and take a look at the teams.
