As soon as there is a breakdown out there, there is counter rucking with numbers going through the ball.

    England 5-0 Canada

Canada are giving England more of a challenge than New Zealand did so far.

The women's rugby world order has definitely changed since Covid-19 hit.

Canada kick to touch from outside their 22, meaning England get a line-out all the way back there. But Canada manage to regather possession on the floor again.

    England 5-0 Canada

Excellent work on the floor by Poppy Cleall wins England a scrum but the Canadians win the ball right back!

Simon Middleton spoke about Canada's power up front pre-match and, unsurprisingly, he was not wrong. England are being beaten in the pack at the moment.

England's attack comes to nowhere though as they concede yet another penalty and Canada take it quickly.

The visitors kick away possession and Zoe Harrison kicks the ball right back.

Or not... Instead Claudia MacDonald grabs an overthrown line-out and Heather Cowell is off again down the right wing!

    England 5-0 Canada

Well, well, well. England's maul has become something of a trademark for them but they have just been torn apart by Canada in that area.

The visitors barrage their way up to the 22 and a misdemeanour by debutant Sadia Kabeya in the maul gives the Canadians a kickable penalty.

Canada opt to go for the corner instead. One more strong maul and they'll be over.

You can see both teams trying to feel this game out with a lot of kicking. Canada know how strong this England defence is so they are trying to put boot to ball an awful lot.

    England 5-0 Canada

Heather Cowell takes a kick and she is off again. The wing is looking to make her mark in a competitive England back three.

But Canada nab the ball back and win a penalty from offside. They're inside their own half, but this is probably one of the best chances Canada have had so far.

    England 5-0 Canada

Poppy Cleall rolls out of one tackle and barrels her way up to the halfway line.

Canada are defending ferociously but it feels like only a matter of time before England make their way through.

Claudia MacDonald sends a kick to nowhere, but England were playing advantage and Zoe Harrison pops the ball into touch.

A crowd-pleaser of a score. Wing Heather Cowell gets over on debut and on her club home ground.

It comes after five minutes of near total England dominance of possession and territory.

A lot was made of how Canada would have the heart to stick in the fight. They are going to need every ounce of it judging by how the game has gone so far.

    Heather Cowell

    On her debut!

Zoe Harrison takes a quick-tap penalty and Helena Rowland sends an excellent pass out wide to Heather Cowell, who has the space to go over.

Playing at her club ground, that is a special moment for the wing.

Zoe Harrison misses the conversion, but it's a great start for the Red Roses.

Here goes England's maul. It was a fruitful move for them against New Zealand but as Simon Middleton predicted Canada's pack is slightly harder to get through.

Oops but instead the visitors kick the ball straight to Sarah Bern and England have a great attacking chance inside Canada's 22.

And now an offside and high tackle mean an England penalty. Zoe Harrison will kick to the corner to go for five points.

    England 0-0 Canada

Canada are sharp in their defence but England only need a slither of space to make something happen.

Hooker Amy Cokayne makes use of her surprising pace down the left wing to get into the opponents' half.

Zoe Harrison sends a kick over the top, but it's gone a little too far and Canada get a chance to clear their lines.

And we're off. Canada's Alexandra Tessier loops the ball up into the air.
