I think we’ve got to show a bit more composure this half. I think it’s been a bit frantic and when we’ve had the momentum we’ve given it away cheaply.

If we can go back to our basic principles, keep the ball and keep momentum then I’m sure there are cracks we can exploit.

Wales have got to go back to basics in this half. They don't need to play fancy or flashy rugby and that's not a bad thing.

If France want to, they could absolutely cut loose here so Wales have got to start the half well.

When Wales stick to their own game and start going through the phases, they are causing France to make mistakes.

It's when they try and play the kicking game that they're giving it all away. Take nothing away from France - they've been class.

Again it comes down to being clinical, every time France have gone into Wales' 22 they've come away with points.

But Wales squander the chance and give away the penalty.

Wales will be disappointed not to take more from that, it was the best opportunity they've had so far.

With the exception of the final five minutes it's been all France in the first half here in Cardiff.

Two tries from Laure Sansus, taking her up to six for the tournament, and one a piece from Chloe Jacquet and Caroline Boujard have given the world's third-best side a commanding lead at the break.

We'll be back shortly for all the second-half action.

Unfortunately not for the Welsh crowd.

France disrupt the line-out and a Wales hand knocks the ball out into touch for a French line-out.

That will likely do it for the first-half as the final seconds tick away.

Wales win another penalty and try to force the ball wide but Niamh Terry on the left wing knocks on.

We will go back to the Welsh penalty, and Elinor Snowsill kicks to the corner.

Jasmine Joyce is back on after her HIA, can she finish off the move?

Wales have just got to stay patient and play to their strengths.

The momentum will come, they've just got to play their own game.

    Wales 0-26 France

Wales are unable to gather the line-out but it's because a French hand has knocked the ball forward.

It's a Welsh scrum just inside the French 22.

The home crowd are backing their side, can they reward them with a late score?

    Wales 0-26 France

Wales win the ball back at the scrum and win another penalty, France's Celine Ferer penalised for not rolling away.

This penalty is kicked deep into the French 22, can the Welsh forwards take advantage this time?

The driving maul has been a real strength this tournament for Wales.

It looks like Wales are trying to play like France do, but that's not how Wales play and those aren't necessarily their strengths.

And France are loving it because they love unstructured rugby, they love the open play. But credit to them though because they're forcing Wales to play in a way they're not used to.

Just as Wales look to build an attacking platform the line-out is not straight, and France win the scrum.

It's going from bad to worse for Wales. Jasmine Joyce has just gone off for a HIA and that's third one we've had now.

The crowd are going quiet but I'm not worried about that, I'm worried about Wales' back line.

Siwan Lillicrap returns from her HIA but wing Jasmine Joyce is the latest Welsh player to go down the tunnel to be checked.

Niamh Terry is on in her place.

There's more extra-curricular activity after a French knock-on as tempers begin to flare a little.

Wales have a scrum in the French half, and France are penalised in the following phase.

For the first time this evening Wales have an attacking line-out in French territory.

    This is ruthless now.

France are just being more clinical, you say you make your own luck in sport but good players make their own luck and they're being so much more accurate.

Wales are starting to go off script and that worries me.

Converted try - Wales 0-26 Francepublished at 29 mins

    Laure Sansus, con Jessy Tremouliere

Wales butcher the scrum and Laure Sansus takes full advantage to score France's fourth try and secure a bonus point.

Wales survived the previous attack but with their own put-in at the scrum the ball springs out the side and Sansus dives over.

Jessy Tremouliere is back on target, a third conversion from a very acute angle.
