Wales have given away too many needless penalties.

It's all well and good being physical but you also have to be accurate and precise, especially against a team like France, and Wales haven't been able to do that.

France come again, first Wales are penalised for offside and then Donna Rose takes out Marine Menager off the ball.

France have an attacking line-out deep in Welsh territory as they seek a sixth try.

Wales have made two more changes, Kelsey Jones is on for Carys Phillips while Kerin Lake replaces Elinor Snowsill.

That just sums up Wales' night. They just haven't been on it.

It could be down to how much pressure France have put on them, but they've got to try and finish on a high here.

France make three more changes, Coco Lindelauf, Assia Khalfaoui and Emilie Boulard are on.

Wales are not showing signs of giving up, and work the ball well into French territory.

They win another penalty but Elinor Snowsill's kick drifts too long and out of bounds behind the French try line.

France will have the scrum on their own 22-metre yard, really disappointing for Wales.

But I just noticed on the replay how she faked to go blind, and put Wales on the backfoot so that is great play and great awareness from France to manipulate Wales' defence.

Wales can't let France keep dictating and settle into the game. And they've started well this half, they've harried the French and asked questions of them in attack.

They've just got to be a bit more clinical in those key moments.

I think France know how much of a threat Jasmine Joyce is - they just fly on to her straight away and stop her momentum.

Such a shame Wales couldn't execute there.

Wales win the scrum, Keira Bevan goes left to Jasmine Joyce but the French defence is up quickly and win the penalty at the breakdown.

More disappointment for Wales, but they'll be pleased with the way they've started this half.

I think it's a good shout for Wales to take the scrum because you're already splitting the French defence, so it gives them a chance to attack and try and manipulate them a bit more.

Wales choose to go for the scrum, a brave decision after conceding a few penalties in this area in the first half.

The scrum is around five metres out, just to the right of the French posts.

Keira Bevan breaks through the French defence but is held up six metres short.

It's still Wales' ball as the forwards look to make the hard yards.

It's another penalty to Wales, much much better from the hosts already in this second half.

Wales lose the ball at the line out, but the resulting French attack is stopped as Carys Phillips does excellently to get her body over the ball and win a penalty at the breakdown.

Keira Bevan kicks Wales into French territory and Jasmine Joyce finds a yard of space for the first time today.

France are once again penalised at the breakdown and Wales are into the French 22 for just the second time.

There's a little bit of kick-tennis to begin this second half, France full-back Chloe Jacquet lucky to see her fumble go backwards.

Wales ultimately come out on top though, France kicking straight into touch to give the Welsh an attacking line-out.
