Chris: Yes, the All Blacks are good, but England look naive, clueless, lost and amateur out there. If we're going to have a good World Cup, some major changes and improvements are needed.

Jim: Men against boys. Eddie has to think about his future after this. England are miles away.

Owen Farrell and Henry Slade bash their way towards the try line under the posts, but yet again New Zealand, this time through Ardie Savea, force them into conceding a penalty just at the crucial moment.

The noise at Twickenham is more of a background hum rather than a roar - a reflection of what the majority of people in the famous old ground are feeling.

England team manager Richard Hill gave scrum-half Jack van Poortvliet a comforting pat on the backside as he trooped off to be replaced by Ben Youngs.

The hardest day in the office so far for the 21-year-old.

Jack van Poortvliet's day is done as Ben Youngs comes on for cap number 120. Henry Slade is also on - for Manu Tuilagi.

England are into "mountain to climb" territory here. That try move began with Sam Simmonds losing the ball in the tackle - it's a tough, tough day for the hosts.

    Rieko Ioane

Rieko Ioane races three-quarters the length of the field after a cute kick and pass move, collecting the ball from Caleb Clarke - but was it offside?

Nope. It's a try. Jordie Barrett misses a tough kick out wide.

The All Blacks rumble back downfield, and a frustrated England then get involved in some shilly-shallying, as Bill McLaren would say, with Tom Curry and Marcus Smith in a shoving match on halfway.

    This is more like it!

Manu Tuilagi barrels across the pitch and is held up a couple of metres short.

Maro Itoje is then a sliver away but the black shirts are everywhere they need to be - and then England give a penalty away right under the posts.

    Opportunity wasted.

    Marcus Smith

Owen Farrell's ankle must be a problem, but the young fly-half knocks it over with ease. The option was the corner or points, and at this stage three points were a must. And as a great man said, points make prizes...

A decent start from England as they hassle New Zealand into conceding a penalty on the 22 just to the left as the kicker looks at it.

And that kicker is Marcus Smith...

If history and omens are your thing, and why wouldn't they be, it's worth remembering that England have only beaten the All Blacks on five occasions at Twickenham.

The teams are out and we are all set for the second half.

I wonder how much Eddie Jones' "They are there for the taking" comments this week stirred up the All Blacks? They were 'on it' from minute one and have been squeezing the life out of England.

After a spectacular pre-game lights show, the atmosphere has gone very flat here with England blitzed in that first 40.

For all the talk in the week of being confrontational against New Zealand, they have been strangely passive and are being dominated at the breakdown and the scrum.

England’s replacements have been warming up all half and Eddie Jones will surely need to act soon.

Owen Farrell asks referee Mathieu Raynal if "there is anything we could do better" as his England side trudge off.

I imagine coach Eddie Jones will have plenty of suggestions in the dressing room.

Relentless stuff from the All Blacks all the way across the field deep in the England 22 but it ends with Jordie Barrett dropping it. However, we go all the way back as Ellis Genge was offside.
