That's a reflection on Eddie Jones being pretty unhappy about the way England are playing, but Care has struggled with game management at the highest level. And the scrum half tends to get criticized for the way a team plays.

Oh dear. Australia fumble again as James Slipper drops the ball trying to stretch for a catch. England have another cheap scrum.

You feel that the Aussies have done their homework around the set piece.

Easy enough for Farrell. Australia had a chance to go for the jugular. They missed.

Heather Rickman: Too many missed tackles England. Sort it out

Aus v Eng : What a stodgy, full contrast to the rugby joy of All Blacks v Ireland. Both teams playing not to lose. England so conservative. And let's not get started on the witless obsession with kicking.

    Saul, Somerset

Agree that England are one dimensional. On the rare occasions someone does do something different, the other players aren't able to catch up, the player gets isolated and a penalty inevitably follows.

    Australia 10-3 England

Better from England who are handed some cheap territory following an Australia error.

They very nearly mess up a line-out on the 22 as Jamie George fumbles a no-look pass, but the referee spots a holding penalty to give Owen Farrell a chance to add more points.

Porter is all over the show, bless him. He needs to get his head in the game quick.

    Australia 7-3 England

England are great attacking down the left but are really struggling to defend on that side.

Marika Koroibete beats the line with the simplest of steps and gains about 20 yards. Danny Care is eventually penalised trying to hold the Aussie onslaught up and the hosts have another penalty in a great position.

Local boy Michael Hooper rescues a horrible clearing kick from Nic White. That could have been dangerous for the hosts.

Australia win a scrum in their own half. The Australia fans by the way haven't stopped cheering since the opening try.

    Ugo Monye
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was really well worked, it has taken them a while to get going but that was a set piece scored in one phase, something you rarely see in international rugby. England will be really disappointed.

    Australia 7-3 England

We have a water break which will give England a chance to reset. Just as they looked on top, Australia hit them hard.

One missed tackle, an individual error but there was still a heck of a lot to do. It was beautifully done.

    Tom Wright

    Oh.

Sensational from Australia as Marika Koroibete finds Tom Wright on the right wing and after a brilliant one-two with Nic White, Wright is clear to go over in the corner.

Noah Lolesio's conversion is good. just.

It's compelling stuff, but a bit on the cagey side.

    Australia 0-3 England

Well Mark, it looks like England are listening as they try some fancy flicks down the left wing and again Tommy Freeman attempts to beat Usain Bolt's 100 metre record breaking clear.

He ends up outrunning his support though and has no one to pass too as he's forced over the sideline.

Mark Burt: England’s rugby always appears so one dimensional. Not sure if it’s the coach or the players but they seem incapable of real development. To win a World Cup you need more than a single club in your bag
