I think the referees whistle has broken and the players are struggling to hear her.

Wales will be frustrated they're not getting clean ball at the breakdown which is causing knock ons and playing into the hands of the USA.

Although the score is 14-3 you do feel Wales are more dominant than the scoreline suggests.

    Wales 14-3 USA

The ball is going back and forth like a tennis match with both sides losing possession.

Now the referee takes a tumble.

A bizarre passage of play ends on the half way line with players almost looking at each other unsure what's happening next!

    Wales 14-3 USA

Jasmine Joyce is so good at beating the first defender - and is surprisingly strong for a smaller player.

Former Wales prop on Radio Cymru

One of the main areas Wales have improved is their discipline.

Penalties give possession away and against the best teams in the world it makes a huge difference with loss of momentum and territory.

    Wales 14-3 USA

Wales go for the corner but again the lineout is off target.

That's been the only disappointment this half.

Gwenllian Pyrs is also heading off for a head injury assessment.

    Abbey Constable is on.

The TMO has just signalled that the tackle needs looking at.

And the Eagles flanker is off for ten.

  8. Ouch!published at 30 mins

    Wales 14-3 USA

Gwenllian Pyrs was stopped in her tracks there and spills the ball and USA celebrate.

Got to say, I thought that looked high.

Either going for the posts or the corner I'd be happy with that decision.

USA are having barely any of the ball and Wales are managing the game really well.

Ooh that was an ugly one from Keira Bevan.

When the ball comes to Jasmine Joyce's hands the crowds level rises a few decibels.

Wales keeping it tight and when they notice the USA defence getting narrow they look to the back three players and Joyce.

Another error from USA and you have to say Wales are playing these wet conditions far, far better.

It's important Wales capitalise on their opportunities when they get a free play from a penalty advantage and show some ambition.

Wales' dominance in the scrum almost surprised themselves there.

Caryl says she's not sure if it's better to score a try or win a penalty from a scrum.

You can tell she was a prop!

    Keira Bevan, con Bevan

The scrum-half squeezes through after the pack rumbled on.

The referee may have been about to award a penalty try but Bevan picked up and stepped through the gap close to the posts.

    She even adds the extras.

I'm not sure if it's better to score a try or get a penalty from a scrum!

Wales' front row was called the bomb squad in the Six Nations and they've really shown why there with that scrum penalty.

Wales spread the ball and centre Kerin Lake crashes through. But was she held up?

It's gone to the TMO - on field decision is no try.

    Wales 7-3 USA

Oh take a bow Gwenllian Pyrs, Carys Phillips and Sisilia Tuipulotu.

USA had a scrum 10 yards from their own line but Wales just simply shoved them back off the ball and Wales have the put in, in a perfect attacking position in front of the posts.

I reckon every Welsh forward must have had a crack then. Carys Phillips making great ground but eventually the ball goes forward and the Eagles celebrate surviving at least a dozen phases.
