I'm not surprised with Wales' strength up front, all the time we've been training together during the summer it's the set-piece that really benefits.

It's not an easy day to control a lineout ball but Wales' are controlling it really well today.

Carys Phillips is short with her throw and a perfect attacking position is lost... for now.

Oh that's so frustrating for America.

Gabriella Cantorna has just kicked three points but then boots the ball out on the full and Wales have a lineout deep in American territory.

USA's first attack and Wales stray offside. The fly-half knocks over an easy kick in front of the posts.

You'd expect to see a lot of mistakes with the rain like this.

The most important thing is that you maintain control over the game and if you make errors you win the ball back as soon as possible as Wales have done there.

Yeah it's interesting to see just how the Welsh forwards are physically dominating what we thought was a powerful USA pack.

A summer of preparation is paying off.

A good height on those pick and go's from Wales, it's really difficult to defend.

Playing with the advantage, Wales showed their physical advantage in those areas, keeping it tight and coming away with the try.

Oh she's scored on her return. What a comeback!

Wales pounded away at the line before the flanker spotted the gap and dived over the bodies - American football style.

Her fiance Jasmine Joyce was among the first to congratulate her.

Wales have put the pressure on the USA, another scrum in the 22.

The driving maul looks good and repeat set-pieces in the USA 22 will allow Wales to build the pressure.

Wales kiick to the corner but lose possession as they rumble towards the line.

USA then spill the ball behind the line but just about get it clear.

Oh and there's another early blow by the Welsh pack at the opening scrum.

That's not a great start for new cap Carys Cox, she's given away a penalty at the kick-off for taking out the jumper in the air.

This is a really valuable warm-up game for Wales.

It's a difficult period for the USA at the moment, look at the world rankings, Wales sixth and USA seventh, but their preparation for this game has been totally different.

USA have had a lot of coaching turnover whereas Wales look a lot more comfortable in preparation for the WXV.

It's going to be an exciting game and it's great to come up here to North Wales where they don't see international rugby very often, the fans are going nuts.
