    Some stats for you.

Canada have missed more tackles than Wales (5-1).

The teams are equal for turnovers 3-3.

Possession is fairly equal so far: Canada 53%, Wales 47%.

But Canada are dominating territory with 60%.

Will that defensive effort take its toll on Wales?

Six players including injured Ffion Lewis and Natalia John and current Wales squad members Carys Phillips, Alex Callender, Hannah Bluck and Carys Cox, will be without a club when they get home after Worcester Warriors Women followed the club's men's team in bankruptcy.

One solution - and not the first time to be mooted - would be to set up an elite team in Wales to absorb the affected players and help develop more for Test level.

Wales number eight Sioned Harries left Sixways after five seasons at the end of 2022-23 and "can only imagine how upsetting the experience is" for her former club-mates and current fellow Wales squad members.

"My main concern at the moment is, I see the (Worcester) Welsh girls knowing after this competition they don't have a club to go to after," she told the Scrum V podcast.

"It's a call now, that there needs to be a professional club in Wales."

I'm so impressed with Wales' kicking game.

In the past it's been one of the biggest struggles and now they are competing with Canada who are ranked fourth in the world.

The woman with more international goals than anyone else, Christine Sinclair, has announced she is retiring from the national side.

Sinclair's 190 goals in 327 games will take some beating!

What a half. At the start we were focused on that forward dominance but now you can see the teams starting to read how each other play.

Both sides are evenly matched which I think Wales will be really happy with.

Georgia reads the game, she is a fantastic player and read the ball an the pass so well.

Georgia Evans try, Keira Bevan con

Oh it's a gift - Evans intercepts and is clear.

That was great anticipation by the big second row who picks off Claire Gallagher's pass in midfield and is under the sticks.

Wales back in it and Canada will be fuming at themselves.

Sophie De Goede what a player, she leads the team really well and is so dominant in attack.

Madison Grant try, Sophie de Goede con

A lovely set-piece move that worked a treat and ends with the full-back sailing over.

It was all about Florence Symonds, the left wing coming into midfield, creating the overlap and then stepping on the gas before Grant juggles and scores.

De Goede converts - of course!

Wales and Canada have managed to compete against each other in that forward dominance but you can see Canada have a slight edge on the outside and have figured out that Welsh defence.

    Canada 14-10 Wales

Oh Canada's handling among the forwards were not as good as the backs.

They had a chance to get a driving maul going but the ball is split and Wales celebrate relieving the pressure.

  13. Close!published at 34 mins

    Canada 14-10 Wales

Canada almost go a full 60 metres to score.

Again it's wing Florence Symonds leading the break but some great hands see Canada surge up field.

It's the pick and goes. Canada are so athletic and physical, Wales have been dealing with that forward physicality really well but having athletes that close to your line, it's inevitable that they will score.

  15. try

Converted try: Canada 14-10 Walespublished at 31 mins

Sara Svoboda try, Sophie de Goede con

Wales were always back-peddling there and the flanker barges over from close range.

    Canada's back-row are proving decisive.

It might be Ceri because Canada are straight back on the attack after a great kick and chase by full-back Maddison Grant.

Just a reminder Wales have not beaten Canada for 17 years, is it too early to get excited?

This time it's a bit more pragmatic from Wales and Hannah Jones opts to take a shot at goal with the latest penalty.

Wales put in a good fight the last time they played, even better today.

It's all about that full 80 minute performance they are after but at the moment they are very evenly matched.

Now it's number eight Bethan Lewis carrying hard and Wales win another penalty.

Keira Bevans taps and goes quickly and Wales are on the front foot here.

The penalties are adding up here against Canada.
