  1. Warburton still backs Six Nations relegationpublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    HT: Wales 0-11 Italy

    Sam Warburton
Former Wales captain on BBC One

If Wales finish bottom, I don’t think any union should have the right to the cash cow that is the Six Nations.

It would keep everyone on their toes, with further improvement in every union.

When I said I was a fan of relegation two years ago Italy were on a 16-game losing streak, Wales are 11 out of 12, they’re not doing great.

I think the game needs jeopardy and drama, it wouldn’t be automatic relegation, it would be a playoff between them and whoever wins the Rugby Championship, more often than not Georgia, but it could be Portugal this year

The way Italy are playing they absolutely deserve to be in this tournament, they’ve turned it around.

England's World Cup winning captain on BBC One

Wales needed to turn Italy with kicks in the first 20 minutes but they tried to play a bit and played into Italy's hands.

Wales are anxious, they're making mistakes and compounding them. If you make a mistake at this level and compound it you'll go from attacking in their 22 to defending.

  3. Six great North triespublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Wales v Italy 14:15 GMT

We celebrate six of the best from the retiring George North.

Boy could Wales do with one of these today!

    Sergio Parisse
Italy number eight on BBC One

Italy were very good in the first 40 minutes, attacking a lot better than Wales and also better linespeed in defence.

Hopefully Italy can continue and keep this same level of consistency.

It's just so many errors from Wales in the early phases.

If you're the ball carrier you have to secure the ball and give your forwards a platform to attack.

The more experienced players aren't stepping up, there Nick Tompkins, one of Wales' best players at the World Cup going for a hand-off instead of securing the ball.

Wales are on the attacking lineout, but Nick Tompkins knocks it on.

70,000 fans shake their heads in disbelief.

    It's another first phase error.

I bet Warren Gatland can't wait to get them in at half-time.

  10. Wales lacking 'basic skills'published at 36 mins

    Wales 0-11 Italy

    James Hook
Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

What's been really poor in this 35 minutes from Wales is their basic skills.

Some of the passes going behind, going in front, little knock-ons, unforced errors you don't expect from an international team.

A wise decision from an old head.

George North spots a gap behind the Italian defence and kicks the ball deep into Italy's half.

He's unlucky not to get a 50-22 there.

    Not this time Jiffy.

Wales manage to clear their lines, but a loose kick to Monty Ioane sees Italy come straight back.

I think this is a huge moment for Wales, the scrum has been destroyed.

Every time Italy have attacked in the first half they've come away with points.

All these little errors, that was a poor kick from Paolo Garbisi.

I think it's Sam Costelow's ball because he's running on to it but no one calls.

Mis-communication there from Sam Costelow and Cameron Winnett.

They both go for the high ball and knock-on.

They gift Italy a scrum in their 22.

A schoolboy error which sums up Wales' first half hour.

  16. Better from Walespublished at 27 mins

    Wales 0-11 Italy

Tomos Williams launches a promising attack for Wales after a great rip from Tommy Reffell.

George North offloads to Josh Adams who gets isolated and Italian skipper Michele Lamaro clamps down to win the turnover.

An opportunity missed, but promising signs.

  17. New shoes?published at 25 mins

    Wales 0-11 Italy

Wales hooker Elliot Dee replaces his boots.

But it makes no difference, Wales creak at the scrum and the penalty is inevitable.

Italy kick to touch for an attacking lineout.

  18. 'Italy look far better coached'published at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Wales 0-11 Italy

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales international on BBC One

It’s a very lovely finish, great angles of running, the ball out the back is asking a lot of questions for the Welsh defence.

Italy look far more organised than Wales and far better coached.

The Italians are looking comfortable, the defensive line is so solid.

When they get the ball they tip it on first phase and the forwards then keep the momentum.

Wales launch a rare attack after a solid scrum on half-way.

But it all looks a bit rushed as Cameron Winnett spills the ball.
