Scotland are probing the Irish defence and are still very much in this.

The next score in this game is absolutely vital.

We haven't seen very much from Finn Russell and Duhan van der Merwe but we know how dangerous they can be if Scotland can use them.

Much better from Ireland in the second half. The message from Andy Farrell at half time was clearly direct, direct, direct. They were too passive in that first half.

Ireland win the penalty advantage and Calvin Nash kicks into the 22.

Duhan van der Merwe is swallowed up and Scotland are under huge pressure! They manage to clear, but Ireland have the line-out inside the 22!

  4. Replacementpublished at 18:05 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

Finlay Bealham is on for Tadhg Furlong, who took a bit of a knock in the last phase of play.

Jamison Gibson-Park has been in a thorn in Scotland's side. He has been pivotal for Ireland both in defence and attack.

    Ireland 10-6 Scotland

Jack Dempsey makes a massive break into the 22 but gets too carried away and his attempted off load is straight to Jamison Gibson-Park.

Ireland manage to clear but Scotland are coming again.

We say too much doubt but if there is even one iota of doubt it cannot be awarded.

I thought it was down and a try...

In a game of small margins Ireland have been building the pressure on the scoreboard and will be looking to continue to do so.

  8. Replacementpublished at 18:02 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Ireland 10-6 Scotland

That will be George Turner's final act as he is replaced by Ewan Ashman.

Scotland have the scrum on halfway.

Crowley is asking about George Turner's tackle - he made contact with Furlong's head.

For me, it's a penalty try and a yellow card.

Andy Farrell must have read the riot act to Ireland at half-time because they are a completely different team in the second half.

Scotland have survived that no-try decision but Ireland look energised.

It's been ruled out as the TMO feels the ball was dislodged as Furlong looked to touch down.

It's fair to say the home crowd don't exactly agree with that one.

    Will that be decisive?

  12. Try reviewpublished at 17:59 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Ireland 10-6 Scotland

Does Zander Fagerson do just enough to stop Furlong from getting enough downward pressure?

We're getting plenty of replays and the officials are taking their time. It's close! Small margins!

  13. Try reviewpublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Ireland 10-6 Scotland

Ireland tap and go and are held up just short.

Tadhg Furlong tries to drop over the line and looks to have dotted down, but we're going to have a check....the on-field decision is no try.

  14. Close!published at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    Ireland 10-6 Scotland

Ireland are so close as Bundee Aki is brought down two metres out but the final pass is loose and Kyle Steyn looks to charge clear, but play is brought back for a penalty right under the sticks.

I don't think Scotland need to speed up the game at this point. What was important was getting the kick off and Finn Russell has just handed the power back to the men in green.

  16. Postpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

Ireland win the line out and Bundee Aki powers into the 22. Ireland are coming and making ground....

Everyone was wondering what we were going to see from Ireland in the second half but they have come out of the blocks.

Crowley's penalty is a nerve settler and Scotland's restart from Russell going straight out helps the momentum swing further in Ireland's direction.

And now Ireland win the penalty from the resulting scrum.

This is a much better start from Ireland.

Jack Crowley sends it into the 22.

Oh, wow! Big mistake from Finn Russell as his restart goes straight into touch.

Can Ireland build up some momentum?
