  2. 'Unbelievable feeling'published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

FT: Ireland 17-13 Scotland - Ireland win Six Nations

Robbie Henhsaw, Ireland centre: "It's unbelievable. We felt a bit of pressure after last week and we know we were going to be up against it with Scotland having the Triple Crown on the line. It's an unbelievable feeling and the crowd turned up for us. We're delighted with that.

"You could see in the first half it was a little bit nervy, it was quite tight and Scotland defended very well. That first half painted a picture for what that game was. It was vital that we won some silverware after the World Cup. We all know that there is more in us and we're probably only scratching the surface. There is so much more to get better at."

  3. 'It means everything'published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

FT: Ireland 17-13 Scotland - Ireland win Six Nations

Jack Crowley, Ireland fly-half: "It's everything to win a trophy for the country. Representing this nation is something that we speak about a lot as a group. To win a trophy and be able to give something for all the support they have given us over the past couple of years - I'm delighted we could do that for them.

On Peter O'Mahony: "He's unbelievable, isn't he? He is a leader and we follow him everywhere. We follow him into battle and he is someone we all have such high respect for. You will play for him every day."

Scotland could end up second and still be really, really disappointed.

It's been a very inconsistent championship. Should have beat France, Italy was disappointing, and when Gregor actually watches this game back, he'll be disappointed.

He'll reflect on the words he said. Be proud of the defensive effort, but that was an Ireland team that was misfiring. Scotland were still in the game because Ireland didn't take chances.

It's what could have been for Scotland. Overall, a disappointing Six Nations.

Scotland co-captain Finn Russell tells ITV: "We were really good in phases again, but we gifted them the try in the first half. It sums up this campaign for us - up and down.

"We need to get a lot better mentally for next year's campaign because we can't afford to be up and down. We will get better, but it's tough.

"Ireland are the team to beat. In my opinion they are the best team in the world. The boys stood up today with a performance to be proud of."

It's a close four points in a game away from home. Scotland have knocked down big teams away from home in the past.

We're punching above our weight but can we do it consistently, that is the real question.

A small rugby nation up against a nation that has so many more players available. We've beaten England four times in a row though so the question is just consistency.

You just want him to be disappointed!

It's still a loss. Is he proud because he was expecting to get cuffed?

I can understand why he's saying it, but is that the benchmark? Just to give them a game?

That wasn't a good Ireland team. That wasn't a good Scotland performance.

Yes, there was backs-against-the-wall defence, but the basic errors in attack, the things that were in their control they didn't do all that well.

The over-riding sense for me is still frustration. Their attack needs a whole heap of work.

  11. 'Really proud of the players'published at 19:15 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March

    FT: Ireland 17-13 Scotland

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend tells BBC Radio Scotland:

"I feel really proud of the players. All 23 - the effort they put in today in one of the toughest environments to play in.

"They fronted up in the first half, very physical, and at times created opportunities to pressure Ireland. We know we could have done better in the third quarter, but I'm so proud of the effort at the end.

"To score that try and then look like we might score another try, that's all you can ask from your team. You could see the fitness of our players and the impact of our bench.

"We tried at the end, and it's a shame we couldn't get through a few more phases. Our forwards did really well, Stafford McDowall carried hard at times. We probably didn't get the rewards in the first half.

"It was a very close Test match until we got a man in the bin, but I'm so proud of the guys."

Andrew Porter, Ireland try scorer, speaking to ITV: "Scotland are a team that always stick in there. You could see that in the last few minutes there, we were on the edge of our seats, credit to them.

"They were a tough team to break down, their defence put it up to us. You just got to keep backing yourself and that's what we did. Pleased with the back-to-back championships".
