    Romane Menager try

Oh... I just said there was only a small difference between the sides but France have made me eat my words.

That score actually did sum up the difference.

The French scrum wins one against the head, number eight Teani Feleu picks up and breaks a tackle to gallop up field then has the composure to find her flanker in support.

    Sheer class.

Yes, Wales are definitely not playing like a side at the bottom of the table.

They're giving this a real go, which makes the scoreline all the more frustrating.

A brief lapse in concentration and an interception try the difference.

I like the ambition of what Wales are trying to do.

Wales full-back Kayleigh Powell tries a miracle pass between her legs but it's all a bit scrappy from Wales.

She's already sporting a bandage around her head... perhaps that blocked her view?

Yeah Callender is such a great competitor.

No one in the entire Six Nations has made as many tackles as her 56 before kick-off.

You can bet she'll be adding to that tally today.

You can tell Wales are celebrating those small victories that require effort.

You can hear Alex Callender... she's really motivating the team. It's good to see that leadership on the field.

Sisilia Tuipulotu getting some treatment on the ground. Wales will not want to lose her.

It has not quite been the same season for the young prop as her breakthrough campaign last year.

Lleucu George is showing a lot of confidence, a lot of bravery taking the ball to the line and leaving it to the very last second trying to put in that pass to try and give the forwards a bit more momentum.

Wales need to keep their chin up here otherwise this game could go south very quickly.

They've actually looked pretty good with the ball but it's finding that last pass.

Abbie Fleming being penalised at the lineout won't help.

That's brilliant. Joanna Grisez left the Welsh attacker on the outside edge, she gambles but it pays off.

She reads it beautifully and she's in to acres of space. So frustrating for Wales.

Joanna Grisez try, Lina Queyroi con

Oh just as Wales were pressing for a try, the French winger has picked off Sian Jones' pass and has galloped the length of the field.

Carys Cox thought she was going to score in the left corner but the French sevens star had other ideas.

It was a great read and it pays off. Wales in trouble.

Wales mounting a real response here.

Lleucu George pulling the strings, bringing in runners around her and they're edging up field.

Anne-Cecile Ciofani returns to the action and France back to full strength.

They did pretty well down to 14!

It's brilliant to see that awareness. France know the rules, every single player knows they can take that quickly, every player knows that can be an option and is running a line.

Wales again, just switch off for that split second.

France are one of the best for their reaction in rugby, they can just play this off the cuff, reactional rugby that can make them so threatening.

Annaelle Deshayes try, Lina Queyroi con

Oh wow. They're discipline may not be great but their quick-thinking is second to none.

Wales overthrew their lineout and France counter-attacked. Alex Callender tackled the player into touch but scrum-half Bourdon-Sansus was alive to the chance to attack.

She threw a quick lineout to fly-half Queyroi who sent the prop flying over.

French discipline not great in this opening.

Lleucu George has a great kicking game, she can kick the ball the furthest out of many a player in the Premiership.

Wales are going to need that territorial kicking game in this fixture.

Well that second scrum was much better for Wales and will do something to pep up their spirits.

A little over-ambitious spreading the ball inside their own 22 as wing Cath Richards gets her first touch at Test rugby.

Not much she could do though.

This is going to be one of Wales' biggest challenges so far in this Six Nations campaign.

Defence is going to be huge because France are one of the most exciting attacking teams.
