There are a few shouts of 'Come on Ronnie' after Selby misses a yellow in the early stages of the fifth frame. But there is little for O'Sullivan to get excited about as he has to play safe.

It is a tense start to the second half of the first session, but Selby will not mind the pace slowing down a bit as O'Sullivan was in sensational form earlier on.

But there is still a long, long way to go. Remember, it is the man who gets to 18 frames first that will be lifting the trophy.

Selby ends the session well as he gets the first frame on the board. If he had gone 4-0 behind at the mid-session interval then O'Sullivan would have already looked on his way to a sixth world title.

But Selby makes a confidence-building 37 to only trail 3-1 at the break.

O'Sullivan's first key miss sees the red bounce off the jaws of the middle pocket. Selby can only make 25 though before he gets unlucky when a stray red blocks off an attempted long pot.

But at least some encouraging signs for Selby after an opening 45 minutes to this match that he would be keen to forget.
