"Generally, O'Sullivan responds very well to adversity. Sometimes he needs to put that on himself. He did have resolve last night against Stuart Bingham and it will be the same today."

An excellent safety from O'Sullivan by sending the red round the angles and Hawkins is snookered. He needs to use left-hand side on the cueball to create the angle, but it's too much and leaves the red on.

O'Sullivan, black hair but white sideburns, has the upper hand now.

46-46 in the first frame then, tight and tense. O'Sullivan snookers Hawkins behind the brown and it's a hit and hope. It goes safe.

Ronnie fails to pot the red into the green pocket and Barry does the same. A shake of the head, he knows he needs to take those half-chances.
