Frame 19: Selby 8-10 Higgins
Early stages of frame 19. Higgins downed a long red, but opted for power on the black but it doesn't pay off as it stays on the baize.
Selby now goes into a pack of reds, but the pink and black are a long way off. Selby 7-1.
Frame 18: Selby 8-10 Higgins
Steve Davis
Six-time world champion at The Crucible
With the first frame it is very important to get on the board, it was understandably a bit of a tactical frame where no one was really taking any risks.
Mark Selby will be happy the way he won it because he didn’t have to make any really big decisions to put it all on the line.

John Parrott
1991 world champion at The Crucible
It was virtually the same score against Ronnie O'Sullivan, he was 9-3 down in this one, it was the same thing. So it’s looking like it’ll be exactly the same. He obviously came back to beat Ronnie 18-14, so he’s got previous.
Frame 18: Selby 8-10 Higgins
Matt Oswin: Four in a row for Selby. Looks like it's going to be a long, tough game.
Brendan: Higgins had it easy yesterday ..it's time for him to feel the pressure.
Danny Barnsley: Selby has dragged himself back into this phenomenally. Can see him going all the way from here and lifting the title
Frame 18: Selby 8-10 Higgins (76-1)
That's what Mark Selby would have been hoping for, he wins the first frame of the day. That is now four in a row for Selby, albeit over two sessions.

All the talk in the media room is that this match will go late into the night.
The first day was rather easy going with nine breaks over 50 plus two centuries, but with Selby having a good rest overnight, he'll be up for getting bogged down into a scrap.
Their last meeting in world final in 2007 ended at 12:54am on Tuesday - the latest finish in history - and we may get close to that this time.
Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
Where's the cueball going? In the pocket. John Higgins sits down knowing that error, which leaves Selby 53-1 up with a red to the middle, could lead to the end of the first frame of the day.
Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion at The Crucible
He’s kept this frame very, very tight has Mark Selby, John Higgins hasn’t had a pot to look at.
Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
Back on the table, Selby has a 31-1 lead after a cracking long red, but he doesn't get the luck the shot deserves and there is no pot on a colour available. Safety it is again. A tense start to the proceedings.
Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
No sitting on the fence here...
RachelF: OK I'm gonna call it. Higgins 18-16.
Agree? If not, what is your prediction? Give us a reason as well. Let's see who is the smartest.
Me? For what it's worth I'm going Selby 18-14. So you can guarantee it won't be that score.
John Parrott
1991 world champion at The Crucible
It has been a memorable tournament but in particular because of a mistake I made live on TV early on.
We were asking people to send in their videos to help improve their snooker and I was supposed to say "hashtag cuefix" but ended up saying "cuetag hashfix". The crew kept reminding me of it everytime I went on air.
This year has been a longer one for us because we have been on the Red Button forum during the evening session, but it has been really enjoyable.
For the final, a lot of people were saying it would get bogged down between two very tactical players but it has not been like that at all. More of the same would be great.
The end of the first day tells you that Mark Selby is world number one for a reason. I don't know where he found those final three frames from because he was very mentally drained on Sunday and that epic semi-final against Ding Junhui has taken a lot out of him. One good night's sleep will do him good and he will come back tenaciously.

Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
Selby decides against the adventurous option and send the cue tight behind the blue instead after only making 10. No-one wants to lose the first frame of the day, so caution it is.
Frame 18: Selby 7-10 Higgins
A loose safety shot from Mark Selby gives John Higgins this table...
There should be points galore for Higgins, but he only makes one, missing a pot on the blue. A great chance now for Selby. A red and a green get him going. 4-1 to Selby in the 18th.
