  1. The plan todaypublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

Today's play will be played out over two sessions, well, in theory.

The first session consists of eight frames, so if Higgins wins them all then it will be game over.

If not, the final session starts at 19:00 BST with the remaining frames (a maximum of 10) being played until we have a winner. It could well be a late night Bank Holiday shootout. I wouldn't bet against it.

Whatever happens, we're with you all the way.

  2. Welcome backpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

Hello again. Welcome to BBC Sport's live text commentary page from day two of the 2017 World Championship final.

Hope you're all well and refreshed, ready for another full day of snooker.

John Higgins hold a 10-7 lead, and he needs to win eight frames for the title, while Selby is hoping to get another 11 for the championship.

  3. A dramatic day ahead of uspublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 1 May 2017

A final between two men who have both won world championships was always going to be thrilling.

Mark Selby started well by winning two of the first three frames...

...but then the wheels came off as John Higgins stormed into a 10-4 lead as he closed in on his fifth Crucible title.

But Selby showed why he is world number one as he won the last three of the day to reduce the deficit to three frames.

The winner will be the man who gets to 18. Sometime later today, or maybe, in the early hours of tomorrow, one man will get his hands on this trophy. Who will it be?
